Hello all from Chicagoland! Just finishing up the roofing course and essay assignments. The course did a good job of explaining things and the videos were right on! Although, the one about using the drone made me want to go out an play with one. I’ll post my inspection essay, once I know I passed the essay portion. lol.

Just starting and look forward to learning all the points of inspection and how to record them on the report…
just starting the course.
Finished this course, it’s great! When I performed the inspection and essay, I specifically was inspecting the flashing and noticed this skylight did not have flashing exposed on the downhill side of the skylight. At first look, it appears the flashing is actually under the shingles.
At closer look appears the flashing might be correctly installed, but that an additional layer of architectural shingle was installed on top of the flashing. Maybe this is just cosmetic, it looks like the flashing does in fact lay on top of the row of shingles below it (zoom in on photo to see).
Is this common? and is it acceptable?
@jweathers2 Do you have a picture from the side?
