Tandem FPE's

Fellow Inspectors,


It's been a banner week for FPE's. Two more panel in the same house. In addition, as you can see from the pics, they are both mains. House built 30 years ago. Both showed no major bad signs, just one unprotected opening. Any comments on the duality of this situation?

Were these 150 or 200 amp mains? What square footage was the house? It’s pretty common to see 400 amp services today but 30 years ago it was rare.

Any comments? Sure … now there are two panels that at least will need further evaluation, and probably should be replaced … unless the homeowner is a welder … icon_lol.gif
