Terracotagres Master (Double Roll) Ceramic Tile

I recently came across a tile I had never seen before. As soon as we pulled up and the roof tiles came to view, “well that’s a different tile” rolled out. Turns out it was a ceramic tile made in South America.
Here’s the NOA https://terracotagresusa.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/20043004.pdf

Here’s their American outlet website: https://terracotagresusa.com/master-profile/

It was a stylish tile with a slick glazed finish installed straight bond (by design, not typical for a raised profile tile). They claim the ceramic tiles provide an element of thermal insulation. Which seemed very plausible given the attic temperature conditions.

Thankfully the builder left some extra tiles on site or I may have not figured out what these were.

The unique design allows for an atypical installation. When correctly interlocked the tiles are straight bond and have less than a 3" headlap. Unfortunately this installation lacked the proper fastening required to meet the uplift resistance criteria for this area.

I imagine walking on a glazed roof tile would be like walking on a wet mirror…

Thank you very much. Loads to learn from your post. I will go over the NOA again. What was the proper fastener and length, David?

The tiles were fastened with #8 screws, they only installed one screw per tile (with no adhesive). One #8 screw does not meet the uplift resistance criteria for this area.

Appears they are from Portugal. I am going to try to find the installation instruction.
What does the manufacturer say?
Is this the product? American Ceramic Tile Glazed Ceramic 25x41.5cm Graphite Temax

The (USA) link to the company is above. The tiles are made at Cumeeria Sango Santa Catarina Brazil.
