Thanks for the comments! I am beginning to think it is all about money and not education! It makes no difference where you are in the world, pay me now and then we will figure out the education.

I don’t know about Houston but I was able to fulfill the education requirement at the community college here in SA.
Just remember, the required number of classroom hours increases Jan. 1. From 188 to 320 hours. You would need to complete the course work and submit your application prior to Jan. 1 to be grandfathered.

Good point about the education hours changing. That should slow down the influx of inspectors. Nearly twice as many hours required. If they really want to improve the quality of inspectors increasing the classroom hours is one way but requiring more field time is a necessity.

Uh… actually, the education requirements go up more than that. As of Jan 1st, 2005, the education requiremets to go the “Fast-Track” method is 448 hours!!!
