Best post here.
Nice post David.
David Anderson and others, not many can afford 10 to 14 K upfront.
Mr. Meeker, think soundly and without prejudice.
Best thought I can offer you tonight.
I left you a reference on a post about the course I am doing now. you get the same Logo and can use the Infraspection seal as well.
PS: Say hello to John for me.
Guys, Its hard enough to become successful honestly in any direction of this industry without getting slammed for it.
Ease off on John’s success.
I will never understand that mentality.
Thanks for the kind words, very much appreciated.

Not disagreeing… a question I guess.
Many HI’s want so desperately to get into this stuff, and garner the same money as those with proper education and tools of the trade. Remember the fury of activity with the iPhone camera that is forthcoming?
I do not know that as truth Tim.
Curiosity and the ability see peer deeper into structures and systems seems to play a part in the odyssey.
Why should they/inspectors get the same, when the consumer get’s less?
Are you the consumer?
Why are there so many manufactures? Should there only be one?
Its the market place David. Buyer beware.
** I don’t think this will work it’s way out for awhile, and consumer’s know even less when hiring a pro. The proverbial bar being lowered may be a black eye in long run anyway… but, this technology seems to have limitless uses and the longer I’m using it, the more doors that are opening and different things become clearer. If I went about it in reverse…say bought less equipment and training than I needed … which direction does that go?
I am not sure. We, you and I, will try to make a change but its not by or through despairing comments I read Tim.
Education to this new industry is needed.
Geese look at home inspection industry. Low ballers gain there share as home owners loose tens of billions.
Can it be the real estate promoters. Most of them yes!
Its a mixture of both of what you describe, education and equipment.
To many homies purchase though the internet and have no opportunity to handle any equipment BUT at least they get a taste of education for $200 dollars…
Look Tim, our mindset is not far apart as you think.
As attractive as it is… the idea of buying tools **that barely meet the needs **of what you are buying them for, ultimately serve you and your customer less than going other routes… Think about it, it’s true for just about anything that you’d buy, and definitely relevant for any of us that were tradespeople or contractors (should be easy to understand for that crowd, I’d think). Conversely, some of the paths presented are contrary to my thinking… but not to say that they are of no benefit either.
You are being presumptuous Tim.
Anyone that purchased an lower priced but rated Resnet camera will know its limitations after one year. TRUST ME!
Again, I purchased my tools knowing the RESNET or 120 X 120 LIMITATION and purchased a 120 X 160 that seem to be the new norm for entry level.
It will be sold shortly as I seek a higher education and financial benefit BUT it call all go to pot with bad management.
There are may mysteries that need to be rendered into reality. buyer know what you want and can afford.
