I don’t have a question, this is just an interesting setup that I’ve never seen before in a very small Powder Room with limited space for a vanity. When you flush the toilet, the faucet runs water that is recovered in the toilet tank.
You must not hang out on Facebook much
I see this a couple times a week… usually with some joke attached.
Saw it in a 1946 home I inspected that was a flipper. It was new to me. Maybe I do live a sheltered life.
Wasn’t it AOC that said “We keep detainees at the border in deplorable conditions and CBP told them to drink water out of toilets”, only to find out they were combos like this. lol.
That said, considering the proximity to the exhaust pipe, washing your hands with this might not be ideal.
I am sheltered also. I’ve never seen that. I suppose I could stop laughing and shaking my head to take a photo, but leaning over the toilet to carefully wash my hands without slopping water out of that tiny “bowl” would be my challenge.
I’ve never seen it either.
I can see how it would have value, especially if there’s no vanity or no room for one, and the way I understand it, it’s not considered a “bathroom” unless it has a sink, at least as far as the appraisal is concerned.
Thanks for sharing.
I’ve not seen that, either. I guess the idea is efficiency - the toilet tank becomes the sink drain instead of “wasting” that water. Wouldn’t the tank become pretty nasty pretty fast with all that soap and grime in it? Sounds like a magical thinking device.
I’ve never seen this other than joke posts on fb. I thought that’s what it was. I didn’t realize that it was a real thing. I’m a bit of a “germaphobe”. I would NEVER put something like that in my house, garage, or even RV. I’d sooner wash my hands in a local creek or stream. I’m not exactly sure how I would report that other than just document it for what it is. I would be interested in what anyone would write in their report.
Non-issue. It’s a convenience piece, same as with an add-on Bidet.
