It looks like a gas valve and piping. Is that a gas range? The foam looks kinda gross. Is that new construction?

There was nothing on that side of the wall . GAs pipes, hvac, ect all on opposite of home. Dont know why they would do this. I was thinking shut off valve also for gas range that was to the side of this cabinet. But not sure.

This is new construction. Is this something you would see on new construction. How would you word this in the report?

I also agree that the foam is crappy looking but you see this all the time in new homes & even very expensive new homes. I don’t comment on it in the report but I might mention it to the clients if they are there at the inspection.

Have a feeling the foam is to try and cover up the big hole in the cabinet skin from the valve cut out.

Hi James.

That’s definitely the shut off for the gas range. Looks exactly like the one in my house. Were you in my neighborhood? icon_biggrin.gif

i wonder if they’d be curios enough to turn that valve while the stove is goin. that’ll tell them for sure. and if it stays lit, check the house for what isn’t working. but i’d let them do it. i don’t operate valves of any kind, with my luck it’ll be the last time it works. icon_cool.gif
