What is this?

Somewhat granulated debris, had some ideas about ants. Granules are a bit larger than what I’ve previously seen for ants. Very dry material on exterior garage wall.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Tim

I had thought Carpenter Ants… anyone?

I use to live on a farm and the mice actually traveled between the footing and the floating slab in the garage and keep a fine almost sandy texture dirt pushed up onto the floor looks similar

looks like carpenter ants

That’s what I thought too…

Opposing side of wall is stucco with NO weep screed and stucco going straight down to concrete. Possibly moisture attracting ants.

Thanks.

Tim

Remember that carpenter ants don’t leave granular frass. Any carpenter ant frass would have a shredded appearance and be accompanied by body parts of other insects and carpenter ants.
