Who can inspect what?

Lee,

Go to the Florida Nachi site and they have a link to the Citizens site that explains that HI’s can do the Wind Mit inspections but they must have completed an approved Wind Mitigation course of at least 3 hours. I think that Citizens would perfer that the inspections be performed by Contractors and Engineers as they won’t hire HI’s for their recertification program, but recent changes to Florida law requires them to accept HI inspections outside of their recertification program. At least that is how I understand it. HI’s can also do 4 points and Roof Certifications with proper course completiong… again this is how I understand the current situation after reading Citizen’s page.

Thanks for all of the good info!

How about MOLD DBPR says contractors that are members of CILB can still do mold inspections. With NACHI being a CILB member and being IAC2 certified isnt there some way we can do them? The IAC2 education class says Home Inspectors are the best qualified. we aren’t doing lab work or remediation

Obama said last year we had the “summer of recovery” too.

Standard of practice for mold from DBPR may help answer alot of questions.
About 20 days till July 1.
