Wind Mit Scenario #19 (I think)

We have belabored the issue of roof shape in regards to a multi-family unit, and I think we all more or less agree that the entire building is considered in the designation of shape.

My question then - And I don’t believe it was discussed in the training sessions I attended, but…

In a condo or townhome where the subject property is one story masonry construction, other units are two story and the upper story is frame construction.

Do you calculate percentage frame/masonry for the entire structure, and do you classify the subject property as one or two stories?

Yes, absolutely! You already know, lets see who else does.

Surely all the experts out there have an opinion!!

You would use the whole building, unless the roofs are divided by a masonry wall. Like Wind Mit #18. It helps to have pictures.
