Because of the new forum system, I missed this. Cool post.
This comment made on the FB thread was very fun and Spot On!
It never even entered my mind until after it was stated.
Absolutely makes sense referring back to the orig post about the location!
For anyone visiting or traveling through the SW Ohio area, the National Museum (USAF Museum) is a MUST SEE.
For anyone visiting or traveling through the SW Minnesota area, The Fagan Fighters WWII Museum is (also) a MUST SEE!
I’ll second that. An amazing place, literally surrounded by corn fields in SW MN an hour from my home. The first time I went, I was wondering how something so awesome ended up out in the middle of nowhere, lol.
Have you ever made it to the Airshow? I have not and been dying to go.
My Dad was USAAF with P-38 Lightnings, I think in Italy. I understand Fagan now has one of the last operational P-38’s.
I haven’t been to it. But it’s on my list! I went to the Duluth airshow a couple years ago and that was amazing.
I grew up just north of Dayton, (dad was stationed at Wright-Patt) and the AF Museum was always a fun trip.
I try to get there at least once a year, there’s so much to see it really takes 2 days to thorougly see it all.
I had an inspection in Fairborn today and got to see a C-17 fly over. I used to build those things and actually started on T-1 (Test one), the one that’s on display at the museum, when it was couple panels in a jig back in October 1989.
Good stuff.
