Am I correct that the picture shows an active gusher into a cesspool Those look like the water meters for the two units. So whoever is reading those meters never minded standing in that?

Most meters I see now are all remote wired. No need to get close to the meter to read it, it automatically sends out the signal of the reading to the person who is collecting the info. I can’t believe the tenants neve smelt anything

Actually, no…I was up-close and personal. That’s not the worst part of the inspection, as the foundation mortar had deteriorated and rainwater was coming in and washing out all the foundation, and making the house settle.
Poor people, they were a young Hmong couple, and were very happy with the learning process of the inspection, but they did ask me “do you think we should buy this home?” Broke my heart not to be able to tell them what I really thought. All I could say was, I can’t make that kind of determination

What’s really amazing is that they actually were considering still buying the home. I have read a ton of posts about clients still wanting to and even buying homes after the inspection uncovered huge problems. I suppose once someone has their mind made up about buying a house, nothing but a wrecking ball could stop them.
