Bringing on a new inspector to the team and picked one of these up for him.
I have both a werner and gorilla articulating ladder and they work great, but too heavy. Thought it was about time to get the little giant a try since they seem compact and light comparably. I was in Lowes recently and they had several different sizes of the little giant articulating ladders. I was about to pick one up for checkout when I noticed the ladder feet are made of some type of hard plastic. The plastic ladder feet felt very slippery when rubbing on them. I know my werner and gorilla have the rubber feet that grip very good, so I’m not sure what’s going on with the little giant ladders.
I don’t know if it was just the little giant models I saw at lowes or if it applies to other little giant ladders, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable relying on those ladders with the pastic feet.
I had a Little Giant for years and carried a rubber backed carpet sample to place down (on decks, etc.) to make sure the ladder didn’t slip…worked well for me.
Possible the ones in the retail stores have cheaper parts.
I recently ordered new feet for my LG from Wing, as they wear out over time. Makes a big difference too.
And for the record, I absolutely hate those orange “rock locks” on the side of the ladder. Liked the older pull out “U-pin” design better.
I personally have been using different versions of the LG Velocity ladders for 5 years now. I love them.
Same As Larry, I used a Little Giant for 10+ years. Great ladder system. Work smarter, not harder.
I hate when I have to break out my articulating or combination ladders. Too heavy and clumsy for most uses. On 99% of inspections I can get it done with two relatively light Xtend & Climb telescoping ladders and a step stool. Just my two cents.
One of my favorite features of this ladder are the levelers. The discounted version doesn’t come with levelers ![]()
I have a ladder addiction. This isn’t going to end well.
Same here!
I haven’t pulled my Little Giant out in several years.
