A little on te residential side

Is it a lateral drop from the pole and underground to a pad transformer?
I am understanding that the utility company is running the cable.

Yes it is

OK, now I get the picture Peter. :)

Thanks

Looking forward to more Pics.

I’m pretty sure that garage was supposed to be green and white…

What’s the matter Jim, don’t like Red?;)

Hi Pete!
Cool pics! keep them coming!:stuck_out_tongue:

With all if the rain that we have been having… Do you put a tarp over the lumber?

Three days worth of framing lumber Frank, then it will be drip dried until the roof goes on.

No, like Marcel said not much there. We should have the frame up in a few days, roof trusses will be delivered 1 week from Friday. Today was a wash because I had to finish trenching, electrician was laying pipe, the well driller showed up but couldn’t start the drill and left after 3 hours of trying. Basically the job site was a cluster **** of a mess.

Nice to see the material was unloaded correctly. Sometimes the yards don’t put any thought into the loads at all.

Devin, we have to be there to get the lumber staged like that. Most of the time they drop it where ever and usually the sill plates and joists are on the bottom.

Please don’t get mad at me! I noticed that it doesn’t look like your garage front wall was not braced properly for windbracing.

Hey, Peter;

I am out of Commission here, so how about continuing your saga here so we got some actual building Hi topics to talk about.

Where are you at and how are your projects coming along.

Oh, did I forget to ask if you need help.:wink:

Hi Marcel, why are you out of commission?
Project got put on hold. After getting pre-approved from the bank we started the project, with some start up money from my client. Well the bank decides at the last minute ( my client goes down to the bank and wants to close on the loan ) the bank decides they won’t give him the construction loan until he sells the house he’s living in.
I’m meeting with him today to get a payment to cover my expenses until he can sell his house. This guy is retired, has plenty of money in the bank ( 401K ) and has lung cancer and needs to get into this new house before winter, the banks don’t give sh!t about him, me or the other contractors.

There a fine example of how our hard earned tax dollars went to help bail out banks and now we need help and where is it.

As far as the project goes we got the underground electric in, framed the house, roofed it and put the windows in. I tried to get a weather tight shell done for him so it will stay dry, about 10K out of my pocket for now but I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night knowing it was open to the weather.

Other than that I’m keeping two guys busy roofing, siding and some windows here and there

Hopefully he will have good news for me today. I’ll keep you posted.

Good morning Peter, hope it goes foward for you on the project.

For me out of Commission, means out of work. Now Work. O

First time in 39 years. Couple of bid jobs on two schools coming out, but doubt if he will get it.
No work in this area at all. Spreading the word around to see if it spawns some jobs, but doesen’t look very good.

Thanks, and hope your busy down there.

Sorry to hear that Marcel. I have a friend who just move back from Millinocket, he said guys where roofing up there for $12.00 an hour. Slow here but I have enough to keep two guys busy. Doing small jobs, roofs, windows that kind of thing.
Sucks, my big project of the year and it goes south on me.
Fortunately I have some work, combined with home inspections, which have picked up as well as thermal imaging and energy audits.

I hope something breaks for you soon. I’m afraid we are in for a long hard winter!!!

All we can do Peter is keep the spirit up.

Went out this morning to talk to a Contractor that does siding and windows and he is down to a couple of guys himself.

But I did pick up a Home Inspection from him for his son later this month, so was not all wasted.

Stay in touch Peter.

I will, best of luck Marcel.
