Anyone charging 700 to 1000 dollars per inspection?

$1010 for the inspection

Nice! Do you get less business at that price or are you doing a lot of inspections every week?

3/day everyday, 365 per year

0.78 United States. Still bad at math.

If you are doing a large home then higher fees are called for too many buck and a truck inspectors are lowering the value of what it takes to do a quality job. No job less than 400 and 20-25/cents a sq/ft is reasonable given our liability and overhead.

Agreed!

So 400 dollars up to 2000 square feet then charge more above that size?

hey buddy yeah that is quite high. we do 375 as a base price and then go off of home age and sq ft to include more money on the inspection. we do (2 guys separately unless its a big job) about 15 a week. however that may not be a lot to some folks although it works for us and gives means to a comfortable lifestyle… you definitely wanna add termite inspections and possibly later radon and mold inspections. we do home, well, septic, termite, radon and mold. You got this buddy keep pushing forward. also if you’re new you definitely don’t wanna be higher priced then your coemption. Find a middle ground by not being the most expensive or cheapest. You got this man its a struggle at first but with a good attitude and being a proper inspector you can do it. Keep your head up champ.

with the termite inspection added on its more comfortable you know for say a 400$ home inspection with a 125$ termite you’re at 525$. Again keep your head up. Always ask questions don’t feel bad for asking questions.

Thanks. What’s the best way to learn how to do ancillary services?

Ok. May I ask you what you charge
Like I said as much as I can get form them.

what’s included
A comprehensive inspection which includes thermal imaging.

what area you’re in?
I’m in north Florida, but I go where the money leads me.

By doing them with an experienced inspector.

Roy’s on it, but it sounds like you have little to no practical experience so a little education would help. Might even determine if you can actually do this.

I’m in Utah

had to chuckle at that.

I don’t think there is a state requirement for licensing in Utah. Most states do, many do not.

I might suggest making a few phone calls to established inspection companies in town and discussing what certifications they have and where they might suggest to go to for training. Some folks are good with online stuff such as internachi but other might do better with in class learning.

And don’t kid yourself; your first year or so you will likely be making <$40k working for yourself or <$50k if you hire on with an established company. As with any career you have to work your way up.

Let me update this figure. Nobody knows about you and you have zero experience. Gross <$15,000. Think I’m wrong search the forum for posts new inspectors have posted. Of course every market is very different. 75% will fail within their first 3 years.
