Attached garage flooring

This attached garage was added to a ranch on a slab. Appeared to have been converted from a carport. There are several issues (firewall, dryer and bath venting into the garage) but my confusion is the gravel floor. It just doesn’t seem right when attached to the house. I have identified it as unfinished. But is there anything wrong with a gravel floor in an attached garage. I haven’t run into this before.

Not really. If the new owner wants to pour concrete, they will have to excavate some of the gravel out first obviously.

I agree with Ryan, not a problem, except it’ll be harder to clean.

Looks like the gypboard mighy be installed under the OSB.
Nothing wrong with gravel floor unless required by local codes.

NOPE.

As others have mentioned it’s a non issue.

I am in agreement with everyone above.
Write up fire/fume rating issues.

I would include, missing a flat rigid garage door saddle, to prevent air/weather leaks and damaging the bottom of the garage door, the astragal. But that’s just me.

You can’t seal a garage door to a gravel base. The car will rut out where the wheels are after a few passes in and out.

My exact sentiment. You can’t seal a garage door to a gravel base.
Recommend a poured concrete garage door saddle.

Agree, no issue.

Even when a garage has a nice slab, it’s a seperate from the home’s foundation.
