Best reporting software

HI all. Myself and a business partner are in the process of getting certified and starting a home inspection service in our town. I was looking for input on what was the best inspection reporting software out there? We really want to start out with the most efficient operation as possible. I looked back though the chat, but only had seen comments to 2017. A lot can change in 3 years so wondering whats the latest and greatest.

Thanks for the input

HIP, but there are a lot of them out there that have free trials, try them out to see what fits your needs.

I use / like Home Gauge, but you will probably get a different answer from every inspector here. What you really need to do is twofold. First download all the free samples available for different software to see what you like and what fits your knowledge ability (computer skills) level. Second you need to perform some actual inspections with different software to see what features you like.

I know this is not what you want to hear. Everyone works differently and has different experience levels with computers as well as home inspection. You need to find what works for you. Only you can answer that.

Yes to all of that.

I too use HomeGauge, and I’m quite sure that everyone who uses whatever-software-they use, likes it and recommends it.

Paul, read my article on Choosing Inspection Software. It covers the things you should consider when evaluating software and provides links to 10 software companies that are well established and highly regarded.

Morning Paul.
Hope this post finds you well.
Welcome to the MB. Good luck to you and your partners Home Inspection business.

I use Carson Dunlop Horizon. Much More than a reporting software. Look at it closely. Try it for free. Tell us what you think.

As with any reporting software, there is a learning curve.

Best regards.
