Not talking about you Kevin. Talking about the topic of this thread.
I just spoke to the Chief Building Official (AHJ) in my area, and he says he could not think of any Code that prohibits receptacles in regular OR walk in closets. In fact, he stated that receptacles are quite commonly found in closets in newer construction. He also stated that closets are not considered “enclosures.”
If Vern Mitchinson or Kevin Wood have different information. Would you please post the relevant Code and section number so we could put this to rest.
Chris if you have not gone to the Canadian InterNachi Members yet it is there. I did not pick the word “enclosure” the CODE did.
I did not say it was not allowed.
I said I flag it to my client not to use it outside of the enclosure.
The closet itself is not an “enclosure” until it is made into an enclosure by a door.
The AHJ is right that you will see them in new installations because it will be protected by AFCI.
If it is in the Kitchen even more measures of protection are needed.
BTW I get this all the time with the AHJ to show me what he thinks it says as I have pointed out already on the Candadian members only.
Another snow job attempt.:roll::roll:
We’re on to KEVIN.
And I am on you like a Lizard in a little gnat picnic. LOL
More threats. You’re getting close. Better watch it.
Your right before long Nick will be removing my posts and I would cry if that happens.
Ever wonder why a super duper inspector like KEVIN can’t even manage to have a real website?
It would be a plus for the industry if he did.
There is a reason Michael!
There is only one of me.
Worse thing you can do here is not plan for expansion. I am not ready
yet.
lol…lol…lol…lol…lol…lol…lol…lol…lol
So you can’t afford it. I get it.
That is right Michael I can’t afford it as I said already there is only one of me.
Now if I don’t get the Position at the College I may change my website to full blown marketing.
A CMI with a 1,000 plus home inspections under his belt can’t afford a professional website?
That is quite an assumption from someone who has no clue!
I was just letting you know what the AHJ in my area advised, that receptacles ARE ALLOWED in CLOSETS. He said CLOSETS are NOT ENCLOSURES. So if I understand you correctly in your post above, if a CLOSET has a door on it, it is now an ENCLOSURE? Well all my closets at my present home have doors on them, so do the bedrooms and the house itself. So…When I get something out of the bedroom closet, I’m within an enclosure, within the bedroom enclosure, within the house enclosure !!! Glad I’m not claustrophobic !!!
Chris I didn’t write the CODE and I would not call it an “ENCLOSURE” I would call it Every ones favorite storage area for crap they don’t want other People to see clothes, boots and shoes Closet.
But yes anything can be an enclosure even a shark cage is considered an enclosure. LOL
Funny Kevin its the same old same old with Larson.
I wonder if he works or just has his noise in the message board just to go after Canadian HI’S.
What’s the best part about this provocation is allot of the hi he torments get viruses emailed to them when the emotions get ramped on both sides.
Think this happened to American members?
Maybe Sigmund needs to get Michel back on the couch for another session.
Is there some kind of Canadian code that makes you defend a fellow Canadian even when he has been proven wrong over and over and over?
Only person that has been proven wrong over and over and over and over and over is you Michael. Keep your nose clean and while you are at it stay out of every Canadians path.
Prove it.
I know you can’t
Anyone paying attention knows what I said about you I true.
