New construction question. Two story townhome (Orlando, FL). Concrete block first floor, wood frame second. Middle (not end) unit. Trussed roof system. Now my question - aren’t clips or straps required by code? I’ve looked and can’t find code specifics but could be missing them, but this is the first time in as long as I can remember that I’ve encountered new construction with toenails.

Some companies are now using screws to secure the trusses. The information will be in the plans and the screws have to be installed according to the specific instructions for different areas. First time I saw it I was very confused until I started going through the plans. The screws are made by Simpson.
