Ok, I am about to stick my neck out on a limb here but…
Apparently certain States require "State Approval" for CEU's. Unfortunately I don't know them all and I am not sure that any one person does (although I have just been sent a list of some).
Is there some way WE (and I say we for a reason) can compile a complete list and have someone contact these States, get the applications, meet the requirements and forge ahead?
I would be up to compiling the list and sending out for info and applications on behalf of NACHI if that is what is needed.
If we want NACHI to become the leader then I guess we had better step up to the plate and be counted!
Any Takers? Any help?

Include a pound of salt with this next comment, but I think I have also heard that if an inspector submits education but the provider is not on the list, they will either accept or reject.

Robert,
I think I may have jumped the gun. Too early in the a.m.
This looks like it is for core education. Let me dig some more. There is all kinds of stuff for RE classes but very little on HI stuff.
I will also try and contact Lionel Nowatny (one of our newest TX members). He is an instructor for Leonard-Hawes and see if he can provide any guidance.

We have state approved CE in Illinois. 12 hours required for every two year license term (we have to reapply for our licenses every two years. All inspectors licenseds expire together, next on 11/30/06).
NACHI, I believe, is a state approved CE provider (another license) in Illinois, but I only know of one approved course (Joe's electrical course).
It's tough, here, as almost all state CE is offered through ASHI ans NAHI, so we wind up having to pay them for CE credit.

Thanks to both Russ Myers and Joe Tedesco, NACHI and Joe are both accepted continuing education providers in Illinois. NACHI Colorado is working on a listing of all the states that require licensing and adding to a list already put together by another NACHI Member. So, as soon as that is up, we’ll pass it on over. If anyone else is willing to volunteer some time, please let me know so we are not duplicating efforts,

William,
If I or others (as educators) provided you with a course outline etc., would you be interested in working with your State to have them approved. Kind of like a "liaison"

Bob,
For the courses you will be teaching in St. Louis on 9/30 and 10/1 it is imperative that they be properly coordinated in time. Perhaps Joe Tedesco can tell you how to go about the process, since he has recently had to do the same thing.

Robert;
I would be more than happy to do all I can for NACHI education in the state of Illinois. I am currently working on a few course outlines of my own which I hope do get approved, through the NACHI license, in Illinois.
