The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation has accepted and applied our check in the amount of $1,000.00 to become an “Educational Provider” in the State of Illinois and be included on the list of approved education providers… but they first need us to decide on what course we want to offer. To get approval for a pre-license course or continuing education course(s) we must first submit a course description and outline.
What course should we offer inspectors in Illinois? Our Electrical course (Joe Tedesco)? Our HVAC course? Just get our Chapter meetings approved (technical speakers) ?

Tim Kerfin. We had standing room only at the last meeting in May. I think over 90 inspectors attended and it went on until nearly midnight. Great meeting.

We want our next one to be approved for continuing education/licensing purposes by the state of Illinois. That’s why we applied to be a state approved Education Provider.
If we can draw 90 inspectors to our last meeting (on it's own merits)... just think how many we'll draw if the next one is also approved for continuing education/licensing purposes!

Hi to all,
Ken, I will start the ball rolling next week, however it has taken the state of Illinois nearly 2 months to process our last request, I hope that the convention courses can be processed rather quicker than that.

Quarterly meetings (at least) would be much better.

Gary, sounds great. Our biggest concern is that the NACHI meetings/tests held here in Illinois, be state approved for CE’s. It looks like that is in the works!

All Illinois licenses renew Nov. 1st, so inspectors here should have all their State credit hours by now. We need a dozen hours over the next two years for renewal, so there’s plenty of time to submit course outlines for approval.
From what I've been reading here, it looks like Joe's electrical course would be a great one to kick this thing off.
Having the convention courses approved will be great for those attending in January, but those same couses need to be offered here locally. Time to fire up the chapter machine for another meeting. How 'bout it, Tim??

Hello all,
I attended the meeting in May, and found it enjoyable and productive.
Looking forward to the next meeting in northern Illinois!
I agree, most of us in Illinois should have completed our CE class hours by now. I know that I have.
But, I will certainly make use of NACHI sponsored CE classes starting next year!!
