Does anyone here charge 1000 dollars or more per inspection?

That makes a lot more sense lol.

Yeah I’ve heard the buy back guarantee terms are kind of sketchy.

Nick will indeed buy the house. No doubt about that. But the client will still be responsible for buyer/seller fees. And will still not have a house. But like I said, it’s probably better than if the seller was stuck with a house they hate or despise. The program just doesn’t justify a large increase in one’s inspection fee, in my opinion.

I see. Thanks.

If it qualifies. Otherwise, be ready for a potential “house of pain”.

Thanks for the heads up Brian.

New inspectors with no experience thinking the buyback program is some type of insurance.

Yeah, I gotta believe most clients don’t want to give up the house when there is a dispute with the inspector. They want cashola to fix the house. It’s not like the inspector can say “we’ll have Nick just buy it back from you.” It is the client’s choice, not the inspector’s.

4 years ago, but folks can read through 154 post on the subject. I don’t use it for my own personal liability. I couldn’t find the post, but I remember one that the Buy Back was denied and the inspector was jumping through every hoop he could. Just something that I wouldn’t want to participate in from a legal standpoint.

Thanks Thomas.

Brian, It would be applicable by Province. Being in Quebec, Taxes, Fed and provincial are required. The highest in Canada if my memory serves me well.

But that’s what a lot of inspectors thought at the beginning of this program. And I’m sure many newbies still do. I never did use it, and one of the reasons is as you mentioned the client has to come up with a lot of money to pay the agents commission. I don’t see that as a win win situation at all

Because I then focused on growing the business and not relying on a gimmick that quite frankly, no cared about. And pocketing the $5 per inspection made the job way more fun.

Here is a story for ya’. I had a client have me come in and do a second inspection on a home because he had no confidence in the previous inspector who was also a NACHI CPI. The previous inspector said he would throw in the “Buy Back Guarantee” for free for a 5 star Google review. He told my client the free “Buy Back Guarantee” would cost an additional $500 but was willing to wave the fee for the review.

Good point.

Because of overuse by inexperienced inspectors gimmicks which provide little if any benefit to the client are the worst form of marketing as opposed to the best form of marketing which is written referrals from satisfied home inspection clients. Nothing sells like previous sales.

Well said!

That’s wrong in so many ways. Truly a Hungry ( unethical) Home Inspector.
