Electric Furnace Question

Just Inspected a mobile home and found this installation…
It looks like there was no furnace installed. On the top there was AC coils installed and the blower at the bottom. Client said the furnace was missing. There was a flexible vent pipe hanging from the ceiling.
At the bottom of the blower I seen the power disconnect breaker.
I tested this unit on AC and Heating mode. The unit provided hot air. My question is : Is the lower unit a heating/ Blower combo?

Yea, it’s a down flow electric furnace.

Pipe hanging from the ceiling is likely a return.

In both modes?

I’m guessing you’re in an area where electric HVAC isn’t common.

Electric furnaces or heat pump are installed in Chicagoland buildings.
Just haven’t see one like this. Typically, the blower is on the bottom.
I noticed the power disconnect below and made me think that this is the heating unit…
Thank you for your reply.

Manufactured homes are a different animal.

And they are a pain in the ass because of the design.

The blower is at the bottom. What is different is that it’s a down draft, not an updraft. See the filter sitting on top? Great filtering job, no?
The closet is the return plenum.

Don’t try to compare them with other equipment you see all the time.

Just more compact and light weight, they work the same and can be outfitted with cooling coils from a heat pump

Easy to look this up.
