I bought this 2002 Ford Windstar cargo van used (use to be telephone co. work van) with 80K miles,… currently at 130K and so far no complaints… I heard that there is an issue with the header gasket/ air seepage on early 2K models, and complaint is it basically runs ruff in cold weather or start up with some stalls until it warms up. Easy fix (approx. $300) with a new header gasket at a garage.

Cargo van is gutted of all rear seats/ upholstery etc. and It helps me get about 550 miles to the tank (22 gal.?) Probably what I like best about it. especially with gas prices the way they are headed.

Previous owner left the steal rack/ and bulkhead cage in place,… holds all my latter’s (little giant) tools etc. nice and secure in the back.

I trade my vehicle in at about 100K regardless of its condition. Generally, that’s about every three years.

I’m on my second Dodge Ram 1500, Quad-Cab. I think Robert and I had this discussion before - I don’t do mini-vans. :mrgreen:

I’m seriously considering the Escalade for my next inspection vehicle. I just haven’t made up my mind between the Escalade or the Escalade Ext.

You tolerate a bunch of guys walking around the streets in front of your children in sparkling red underwear just so they can show off their penis’? You tolerate a bunch of guys who are nearly nude and performing suggestive sexual posturing in front of your family?

I am one for equality, and so I would have an EQUAL problem with straight men doing this in front of my kids. Unfortunately for the gay community, many of their demonstrations boil down to a display of SEXUAL rights, not EQUAL rights. I am as disgusted by this as I am by macho STRAIGHT hunters marching through the streets simulating the gutting and slaughter of deer and seal. Perhaps we should have doctors marching throught the streets with bloodied gloves and fake brain-matter stuck to their smocks to celebrate all of the lives they’ve saved through surgery. Perversion is pervision, and nobody has to tolerate that whether it comes from the gay or straight communities.

If you are going to show your “gay pride”, consider doing it fully clothed, your penis strapped-in (not “on”), and do not use the concept of showing “pride” in who you are as an excuse to transform our streets into an exhibitionist orgy. If people want to keep the government out of our bedrooms, then keep the bedroom off our public streets.

Furthermore, I think the Kia Sedona is a great value for the price.

Oh man, my Chevy Blazer is at 201,000 miles right about now it’s a 98 or 2000, I forget which. But the catalytic converter needs a changin’ and I was thinking some type of mini van also. Still runnin’ strong though, I’m hoping another 150,000 miles

Ford apparently has been supporting alternative lifestyles for some time now. In recent years, they have had one of the actors that played the closeted homosexual pro football player on Queer As Folk do one of their commercials that aired for well over a year or so.

Everything is in the eye of the beholder. If you never had a gay friend or family member, or one that you kinow of at least, then simple don’t go to a gay pride parade. If it offends you, turn your head. Simple as that. The gay population lives their lives pretty much as any other person in this country. They need to buy cars, food, clothes, and yes…homes. I have had gay clients in the past and probably will have several more in the future. The money in their pockets spends just as easily as anyone elses. If you notice, I have the equal housing oppertunity logo on my page, which means I do not discriminate as to who I do a home inspection.

I have just retired a 1993 Dodge intrepid with a bad transmission - every thing else ok - that has no rust - Northan car - original tail pipe - one set of brakes - front only 6 months ago replacing original - 130k miles

$900 would have replaced the transmission. But the car is worth $200.00

Dodge had only libility insurance on it for the last 4 years

Remember that a truck or car takes away form your bottom line

If your bottom line is large go get new big $$ type of truck or car

I have been reading some reviews and talked to a couple of people that have said the same thing. I do all my own mechanical work and do not look forward to working on van engines. I have worked on my mother’s Ford Econoline for years and hate that thing. I’ve been looking at Dodge Caravans too and might be considering one of those since hearing hearing some of the head gasket stories and some people have told me the Windstars are good for about only 200,000 miles.
