Spotted this today inside an equipment panel. This was the only indication something was amiss. Well, besides the neutrals and grounds lugged together.
Doug, was this a subpanel? were there 2 busses for grds and neutrals? For some reason, neutral current was using that bond as a path. I suspect there were neutrals landed on a grounding bus which was only connected via the jumper.
Yes to all of the above. It was the equipment panel. Unfortunately we see a lot of this kind of initial installation work here. I recommended they get an electrician over immediately if not sooner. There were GFCI problems too but those were homeowner induced. GFCI to the hot tub was faulty as well.
