See the picture - there is a hinged connecting plate on the rafter. This is a manufactured/modular home.
Is this connector ok? It can flex because it’s hinged.
I put up some more pics of other uses of these hinges. I think they got a discount on them and put them everywhere they could.

That’s for a modular home. They are built in a factory, with the hinges so they can be shipped.
