The patio doors in my home are missing the impact status sticker on the inside of the jam and I am trying to figure out how to obtain documentation of its impact status for insurance purposes. The doors were installed by a previous owner, along with another door and all windows, which all have their respective stickers. Additionally, I thought about reaching out to the manufacturer (AWP, local Miami company), but they are no longer in business.
If the door is glazed then you can look for an etching at the coners could be top or bottom take a picture wuth camera at macro setting, use a low lumens flashlight at an angle with flash on and try it with flash off try inside and try outside the home to get best photos. Its hard to get but if its impact rated and not a custom door (were the trim off this area) then it should have one there. If its non-glazed then you can try pulling permits on the home to see if they did pull a permit and use that as your verification. If no permits were pulled and its non glazed then you may want to look at your paperwork find the NOA or call manufacturer and see if they can provide the NOA. Call the installer call the place you bought them If all this fails you can also shutter the entite opening with rated shutters to get the verification for that door. Let me know how it goes.
