I, too, do a lot of hunting, as well as fishing and trapping.

But today we are in a minority, and face a lot of opposition from others, including organizations like PETA, and HSUS. We, in fact face the possibility of losing our privilege to do so, as trappers in several states already have.

Not everyone understands the necessity of thinning the herds, for the good of the balance of nature. I,therefore urge you not to call negative attention to the sport, by displaying your harvested game as transporting uncovered kills, and posing with them, on the internet.

I understand what you are saying Walter. But as far as I am concerned, it is NOT A SPORT. It is a means of putting food on our table.

We work with a ministry that feeds the poor. We clean and process over 150 deer a year. Not to mention hogs.

I also fish, but again I don't consider it a sport.

Will,

Good hunting and good fishing to you!

There are enough deer in America to feed all of our hungry. Good for you.

Hey! Good Will Hunting! Wasn't that a movie or something? ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif)

If you don't consider it a sport, then why do you display them as trophies in your photos?

I'm not judging, simply asking.

Well, I think that a trophie is something that you hang on your wall. These were shot for the meat-not the horns.

Ya' know I've tried boiling them thar horns for hours, and I still can't get them tender nuf to eat.

Besides, football, basketball, baseball,,,these are sports-not hunting and fishing.

Ah, sorry Will. can't agree with you there. About the last part that is. That's why they call it "SPORT FISHING".

When I eat fish, I usually go get some Salmon for the omega 3 fatty acids. That there is "FISH BUYING". Salmon ain't runnin' here and bass don't have the health benefits.

John, I don’t even know what an omega 3 fatty acid is. icon_wink.gif But I guess when it comes to what a “sport” is, then I guess we’re just going to have to agree to disagree.

People have different ideas of what is "sporting". I have never thought of killing something as a "sport".

I didn't think that I would cause this much discussion about sports, just by posting about a hunting trip. I guess it is a good thing that I didn't post a picture of the pile of deer that we cleaned for the poor, or the pic of the deer hanging and being skinned.

Will,

I usually fish "catch and release" that's for fun and sport. No killing there! I do keep the occasional fish to eat that's, well, I guess that's just fishing.

I'm not big on killing for sport either. All the deer on my lease have paint slatter on them. I like Salmon. ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif)

Will,

I am shocked and appalled at your pictures. How can you display them like that?

Could you spare a tenderloin? ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif)

The first thing we did was put the liver and heart in salt water so we could have them for breakfast. Untill I was 10 I thought venison was beef. I could eat venison 3 times a week if I could.

You would have a fit if you could see the freezers at our house right now. Like I said before, we work with a food ministry that feeds the poor. We get deer donated to us.
