Any inspection brothers or sisters that are in Florida in the path of this storm that want to get out of dodge, can have free room & board at my house for a few days if you want to drive to Monroe Ohio.
That is very generous. The hurricane is currently a cat 5, but is expected to slow before land fall on Thurs. (which is rare to slow down before land) They are still predicting cat 3 or cat 4 at landfall.
I have my shutters up and am staying put, but I am not in a mandatory evac zone. I am, however, only about 12 miles inland from tampa bay.
I am not in an evacuation zone, but even if I were there is really no place to go. Landfall is currently uncertain meaning that unless you are in an evacuation zone you should probably stay put. Hide from wind, run from water.
I’ve been getting a barrage of calls to help put stuff away, tie things down, etc.
Considering I only had a few things on the schedule this week, it’s probably going to end up very busy.
I ran out to see if I could find some ice for my Yeti 65 and I did. In the process everyone who didn’t fill their cars a few days ago like I did, is searching and a waiting a lot to get fuel.
I don’t expect any major issues here but I’m as prepared as I can be.
I anyone needs to bug-out to The Villages, reach out to me. My rental property is a block/stucco home with a new hip roof and renter ready. We’re trying to sell it, but in this particular instance, it’s move-in ready with beds, linens, etc.
If I weren’t in the process of trying to sell it, I’d say you’re welcome to come spend a week in the World’s Largest Adult Playground, complete with Loofahs.
Despite the “official narrative” it made land fall around Englewood about 7:30. Upper level wind sheer weakened the storm significantly well before land fall.
