Hello, and thanks for taking the time to read this…
I am located in St. Louis Missouri and am a member of the Union Carpenters in St. Louis for abut 10 years now. I am very interested in becoming a home inspector for a few reasons; extra money, interesting career and a lil less physical exertion as I do commercial foundations.
I have friends in the real estate business, one of them being an owner of a mortgage company, and he pointed me in this direction. I came across NACHI's website last night and looked around. I searched through Google in regard to becoming a home inspector and NACHI was about the most complete site I could find.
I took the 120 question test last night, never having took a class in this field and passed with a score of 83.
I look and look around this site as to any type of education requirements needed to become a member other then doing the NACHI test, the code of ethics etc. All I see in regard to education is the fact that one has to complete continuing education once a member.
Is there a course I need to take previous to becoming a member of NACHI? Is there something else I need to do to become a home inspector other then completing the steps outlined by NACHI?
Any help from anybody in this matter will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks ahead of time,
Bob
