Here’s a thought, let’s start an EX-NACHI home inspector Org.
But I think we should cap the membership at 10,000, shouldn’t take to long to hit that number

Build it and they will come…Sign me up

Why is he still a member? You have the authority to boot him, John, don’t you?
Dan, send me your $295.00 and I will send you your membership card.
You must hurry though, membership spots are filling up fast. ![]()
Wrong question in my opinion. If the person’s website is not in compliance in the first place, how did he get in???
From what I understand, John is not the person that enters the information in the first place or stamps the acceptance label on the application. So why would it be his responsibility to remove him. And if this is going to be NACHI policy with the websites, somebody should get busy and start removing the non-compliant members in KS & MO and the rest of the 48 states and while you’re at it, might as well hit Canada too! I thats accomplished membership would be significantly reduced and capping wouldn’t occur for a couple of years
Paul
I agree.
This should be interesting… most of the nachi members on the find an inspector site are either no longer in business Per the BTR ] or don’t market nachi… and nick claims 9600 members…
That is why it won’t happen.
If NACHI ever completed operation dead wood and eliminated non-compliant web sites it would reduce it’s membership count substantially. So why not take care of this first because if you do, it would be very clear that ‘cap talk’ is not needed at this time.
I laugh sometimes when I see people that have been gone 2-3 years that are still listed as active members. There are plenty.
Todd… Ole buddy … You may want to reconsider this… all the other inspectors are going to get the hundreds of thousands of inspections from nickeys latest marketing gimmicks to con… opps , get new members, and you’ll be out in cold not getting any work with all the other non nachi members…
The rule that got Todd out of nachi is only used when someone is viewed as a trouble maker. Nothing in nachi is enforced until you make a ripple or a small wave. Nick is fearfull of a ripple becoming a surfing wave off the coast of California.
I hope that a real association will come around that is truly open for the membership and not full of marketing gimmicks.
How about TACHI…pronounced TAH-CHEE “True Association of Certified Home Inspectors.”
Crap, nicky is propably getting that trade marked as I type.
TACHI…How hard can it be?
Hire a kick a s s web guy or gal and start another virtual association…Don’t laugh…thats how this place started.
Should we start another thread on this website for this venture?
TACHI…I trademark this acronym as personal property of me and not nick.
Nick floods site, with crappy prizes.
Erol and Paul:
To answer your question… the reason we can’t require it first is that non-members can’t add our logo until after they join.
The Deadwood project is a lot like painting the Golden Gate Bridge. By the time you finish one end, you have to start at the other end again. In other words, it will never be completed (even though we are always working on it)… just like the Golden Gate Bridge will never be painted (even though they are always painting it).
What we’ve just recently incorporated into the project, based on Joe Farsetta’s clarification of our Code of Ethics, is to delete members with non-compliant websites.
Now mind you… one need not quit other associations to comply… and one need not choose associations to comply… and one need not use any association logos at all to comply. We only require equal prominence from dual/multi association inspectors as a condition of membership. Nothing unfair or unreasonable here.
With all of the post on getting kicked out of NACHI it got me thinking about something else. Most of the NACHI members have been in the HI business for under 3 years, If NACHI caps its number of HI’s they will all be new HI’s all of the members that I know from 4 and 5 years ago have physically left ( even though they are still listed as members) I myself have not been active here for 1 and 1/2 years.
Now at what point are you a seasoned HI ? I have met the requirements to be a full member of ASHI and I am in 4 years of business I do an average of 80 CE’s a year ( in the classroom I don’t waist time with virtual internet courses) I don’t think of myself as a master HI like members that I know in ASHI that have been HI’s for 15 to 20 years. So where is it that you become more than a NEWBIE ? .
Michael were all newbys to others with more experience… The difference is the sooner newer inspectors recognize that claiming your superior by completing worthless additional on line certification, quizzes, and often worthless CE dreampt up by venders for their own profit, and to help an individual get membership #s and $s , is just that, worthless BS, and deceiving the public.
You can be the best inspector in your area. Facts are, that BS discredits your true qualifications with other HI including non ashi members] that worked and continue to work hard to get the HI recognized as a professional instead of a just another trades person.
An Nickey demands that his members must show the world and other new inspectors that they support nachi over other orgs.
Who does that benefit, nachi venders, the customer, or nick???
</IMG></IMG></IMG></IMG></IMG>
Then Todd, that is complete BS.
I am sure I could spend an afternoon and find dozens that don’t link to NACHI.
I just started at the A’s and found 3 in the first 5 minutes of looking with no NACHI links.
I will expect to see their memberships revoked today.
I have sent over some names to NACHI of people I know do not work as Home Inspectors anymore and the phone has been disconnected but they are still shown as members
Hey Dan What happend to our buddy Todd is amazing to me he has been a long time NACHI deffender and he gets dumped out? He is complaining about the same thing I have brought up several times, If you remember I even sent a list to the person in charge of the DEADWOOD plan with all the names of the HI’s in AZ. right from the BTR Listings. There are so many HI’s that should be removed that they would loose a lot of there numbers that are claimed.
I don’t get it I thought I would be the next one thrown out in Arizona I feel left out now.
