Oh well, I got booted.

I am sure that all of you know by now, I got booted from the board. No notice, no reasons, nothing.

There is probably a celebration party at Farsetta's place going on tonight.

Seriously, no hard feelings. I have met some great people here, of course I have dealt with some dumba$$es, too.

It's been fun!

I know there are a lot of new inspectors here, if you need some "off the record" advice, feel free to drop me an email at: cshomeinspector@aol.com

get booted. Simply stated, your dues had expired and you were very explicit in letting everyone know that you were not going to renew your membership.

You are still welcome to post here in the non-members area.

Ed,

Just can't stay away, can you? ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif)

Pay your bills. Maybe they will let you back in.

Jim Bushart,

Pay my bills? Why should I? I would be willing to bet that more than half of 10,000 ( icon_lol.gif ) members have never paid one red cent to NACHI.

Jim, do you ever get confused deciding which side of your face you are talking out of?

Ed,

Nearly everyone at NACHI is renewing. We have one of the highest renewal rates of any association (not just home inspection associations) that ever existed anywhere in the world. I think renewal rate says much about the value NACHI returns to its members for the 79 cents a day it charges.

Anyway, I enjoyed having you as a fellow member. It was fun and please hang out with us here in the open-to-all sections of the message board.

Ed,

Sorry to see you leave but with your exit comes a very kind offer (see above). It is great to have an educated and experienced inspector around, such as yourself, to help all those new guys that need a helping hand (aka, good advice) every now and again.

Come back and visit us soon. ![icon_cool.gif](upload://oPnLkqdJc33Dyf2uA3TQwRkfhwd.gif)

Nick,

Thank you for your kind comments. You will never cease to amaze me, and I mean that in a positive way.

Joe,
Thank you, too. Your words are appreciated. If we ever meet, I'll buy first round.

Same for you, Nick. ![icon_wink.gif](upload://ssT9V5t45yjlgXqiFRXL04eXtqw.gif)

Again, to all...feel free to email at any time.

Good night, Gracie.

Ed,

I have never asked you to be censored, chastised, removed, kicked out, or otherwise. So, no, I am not celebrating this evening.

If your membership had expired, and you knew this, then how could you possibly be surprised at this, or accuse someone of being happy over it?

Bottom line was that you failed to renew, and as such, cannot be a member of the org. Its pretty simple, no? I think that most orgs would have taken similar action, it you did the same thing while in their ranks, long ago.

Shame on NACHI for poor housekeeping, I guess. Be thankful you were still able to reap whatever member benefits you could, during the time you were allowed to operate under the wire, so to speak.

Good luck...

Alright! Knock off the hug-fest already It’s not like Ed is heading in for delicate brain surgery (though there are those who feel that might be a good idea).

So just send him some flowers and be done with it.

Consider yourself fortunate. Think of the hundreds of members who simply can't beg their name off the NACHI membership roles even though they've never paid. In reality, you're one of the lucky few who no longer has to worry about your good name being associated with the likes of Gromicko. Even an investigative journalist that focuses on sensationalistic, antagonistic topics couldn't stomach the idea of speaking to Gromicko on the phone and now your ties (by the grace of God) have been severed.
The only thing that would make it all sweeter is to have your IP address blocked and have NACHI shut down one more portion of the "Board for Beginners" that they call home.

Sounds like someone else that used to post here...

I just want to know what the deal with Kat is...from asking for help to a negative post in one day?

Hmmm....

But anyway, goodbye Mr. Porter, and best of luck from this "beginner"

Yeah, me too.(got booted) Of course, I don’t really do inspections and haven’t paid dues in 7 months.

Nick, I’m really glad that you post on this part of the BB. I am still helping a few NACHI members build websites and I can keep up with all the cool stuff you’ve got going on here that will help me build sites.

Just wondering when the shoe will drop on my “membership”. I’m about six months overdue and haven’t heard more than a wisper.

There are some very good inspectors with NACHI, and I wish you good fortune.

There are easy membership requirements too. Too easy for this old contry boy to get cosy with, but it is an easy way to allow a few lazy people to get instant creditability and contribute to Nick". Yes this is a money maker for him and only him, and It's pretty clear he won't give conrtol to those members that should guide the organization. Nick (the worlds higest paid janitor) is NACHI, and with the way things are going and things that have been said I belive it's time for me to leave the "membership".

I hope those of you that take this profession seriously do well. Delete me from the membership ranks. Im six months behind in my dues and not planing on paying. I'm tired of the funny business.

The latest trend of experienced people leaving and or not renewing can not be denied. The MAB was trying to acknowledge the experienced inspectors by allowing a “full member status” on their verification. That is being slammed down, but yet I read the Janitor is trying to start up the “CMI” designation again (better marketing), ummmm… eusa_doh.gif.

Very frustrating, changes must be made and they need to start at the TOP, not the membership.

We acknowledge that collecting dues (or money from any source for that matter) is just not one of NACHI’s strengths.

David Argabright confirms this in his above post where he says that NACHI didn't even invoice him even though he owes dues... and then in the very same post... says NACHI is a "money maker."

It is funny to watch someone throw a punch and knock themselves out.

I agree. I’m not the Top though. If I was the Top, we’d have the blind fella back and we’d have a CMI designation.

The "Top" as Chuck calls it... despite me disagreeing with them on some major issues... is doing an excellent job. They can't please everyone and shouldn't waste time trying.
