Inspect own house?

Robert, have you considered therapy?

Don’t through Robert under the bus…just yet!
He has been active with the Floridan inspectors more than anyone else.
Yep!
I have a few thing I’d like to pass by him.

He is really a hell of a nice guy in Person and ALWAYS willing to help.

Jeez, I haven’t looked at this thread since I got the ok on page 1. Looks like I opened up a can of worms.

Which posses an interesting thought…if an insurer can accept a wind mitigation form anyone they deem “qualified”, and a home owner can complete a wind mitigation on their own home…why do home owners need to pay inspectors to complete the form?

Food for thought…

Well I understand not inspecting a home for someone that you have financial interest in but in this case if the insurance company doesn’t care like others have stated I don’t see the issue. They are the ones paying for my new roof anyways, im sure they are going to get a report from the roofing contractor anyways. I gotta go with the popular vote on this one

You gotta do what you gotta do…

But I would ask this question: Are you legally bound to your licensure by an insurer or the DBPR?

You would have to prove you were qualified…which most homeowners aren’t.
They would rather pay someone 40 bucks to do it anyway…
