Is it a Valid Signature

I used ISN to schedule inspections and get inspection agreements signed for years. I have no problems with them. They provide a great service. I recently switched to getting my agreements signed through HG. I mean it is part of the services I pay for so why not. Through ISN the signature actually shows up on the agreement. When I look at the agreement from HG it is not there. There is a bunch of code, which I am sure serves as a signature. My question is --has anybody had to produce the HG version in court? If so did it hold up as a signature. I think it probably would but I don’t want to give an attorney an argument that the signature is invalid. Any feedback is much appreciated.

You do realize that there is a Home Gauge specific topic area on this forum?

Yes I do. I apologize I thought that was where I was posting. Sorry everybody! Thank you Bob.

Hey Bob, it says at the top of the post that it was posted in the HG Section. Am I missing something?

No, I no longer use HG, and never ISN, so…

I have one question… Does HG provide you with a method or access to the Code information to verify the name of the person that accessed and signed your Agreement?

Yes they do.

No you’re not missing anything. It is in the home gauge section. I’m a home gauge user but I don’t use their agreement services, or credit card services. I’ve been using internachi’s online agreement for years, pretty simple, never any problems.

So it is encrypted for security.
I would assume that a Court would accept it as you have the ability to decipher the code for verification.

I would go back to using ISN for signatures. I would not want to go to court with a bunch of code for the attorney’s and a judge to figure out.

Can you post a screenshot of the code, or a portion of it? I am just curious what it looks like.

I have only used interNACHI’s PIA. Hopefully, if there is any issues validating their signature process, Nick and the team will back it up if need be.

That’s kind of what I was thinking. I’m sure it’s legal. It’s just one more way to confuse things.

Speaking of code. what happened to the bottom your signature?

Were you trying to put a picture at the bottom?

I would run that one by the state Dennis. If for nothing else to CYA just in case.

The code at the bottom is because I answered from my email on my phone. It is my email signature. It just doesn’t translate on the forum.

I would recommend Inspector Toolbelt. https://inspectortoolbelt.com/ . I have used them for the past 4 years for my inspection scheduling, agreements and collecting signatures. Originally is was a $10 per month charge but Currently it’s a free service. I have found it a breeze for me to use and my customers have found it very easy as well.

For $10.86 per month I also use Quick Books for Self Employed on my iPhone or laptop to create invoices, collect payments, track mileage, track purchases. At the end of the year it creates a Beautiful and categorized tax spreadsheet for my tax accountant.
