Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying those who qualify don’t deserve their own designation. I just think the designation chosen is too close to the previously established “CMI” from InterNACHI.

Look at it this way…Let’s say I started my own inspection association and gave experienced or specially trained inspectors the designation “Confirmed Master Inspector (CMI).” You can easily see how that takes advantage (unfairly) of the brand that Nick has built.

Anyway, I think Tom confused legal fees with judgement. They are two different things. Legal fees are incurred whether you win or lose.
Bottom line… I support protecting CMI it is good for the profession. Thanks to everyone connected with the project
