Slate roofs are very rare in my part of the world. I encountered one on an inspection today and immediately noticed several slate tiles that were either missing or slid out of place. Needless to say, I marked it as a defect and referred it to a qualified roofing professional.
I noticed a handful of slate shingles that had a tab of metal pushed beneath them and I was wondering what that was. See attached photo.
Now that I encountered this type of roof, I plan on taking all Internachi’s “Inspecting Slate Roofs” course to further educate myself, but was curious in the mean time.
Was there another metal tab on the same course of slate?
