This “Moderator” nonsense is the nearest thing to not throwing sand in other CHILDREN’S Faces in a Playground…!!!..BOTH - Whacked Members & Non Members, flip a coin. and you’d have Tails on BOTH Sides…!!!

For the record, I wanted NO member of ESOP to serve as moderators. In fact, if they want to moderate as a matter of practice, they most choose which role they want to serve.
For those designated as “moderators”, and wishing to remain on ESOP, there are extremely strict giudelines in which they may, in fact, “moderate”.
This edict was sent to all moderators on ESOP several days ago. ESOP members with moderator status have an extremely narrow scope in which they may operate.
These are my rules, and will remain in effect.

Yep, Happy Valentine’s Day!
I was reading these to my wife and laughing, I got that look,
…and the fight started.
Subject: And the fight started
My wife sat down on the couch next to me as I was flipping channels.
She asked, ‘What’s on TV?’
I said, ‘Dust.’
And then the fight started…
My wife and I are watching “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” while we
were in bed. I turned to her and said, “Do you want to have sex?”
“No,” she answered. I then said, “Is that your final answer?”
She didn’t even look at me this time, simply saying, “Yes.”
So I said, “Then I’d like to phone a friend.”
And then the fight started…
Saturday morning I got up early, quietly dressed, made my lunch,
grabbed the dog, and slipped quietly into the garage. I hooked the
boat up to the truck, and proceeded to back out into a torrential
downpour. The wind was blowing 50 mph, so I pulled back into the
garage, turned on the radio, and discovered that the weather would be
bad all day.
I went back into the house, quietly undressed, and slipped back into
Bed. I cuddled up to my wife’s back, now with a different anticipation,
And whispered, “The weather out there is terrible.”
My loving wife of 10 years replied, “Can you believe my stupid husband
Is out fishing in that?”
And that’s how the fight started…
I rear-ended a car this morning. So, there we were alongside the road
And slowly the other driver got out of his car. You know how sometimes
You just get soooo stressed and little things just seem funny? Yeah
well I couldn’t believe it… He was a DWARF!!!
He stormed over to my car, looked up at me, and shouted, “I AM NOT HAPPY!!!”
So, I looked down at him and said, “Well, then which one are you?”
And then the fight started…
My wife was hinting about what she wanted for our upcoming
anniversary. She said, ‘I want something shiny that goes from 0 to
150 in about 3 seconds.’
I bought her a scale.
And then the fight started…
When I got home last night, my wife demanded that I take her someplace
expensive…
So, I took her to a gas station.
And then the fight started…
After retiring, I went to the Social Security office to apply for Social
Security. The woman behind the counter asked me for my driver’s
licence to verify my age. I looked in my pockets and realised I had
left my wallet at home. I told the woman that I was very sorry, but I
would have to go home and come back later.
The woman said, ‘Unbutton your shirt’. So I opened my shirt revealing
my curly silver hair. She said, ‘That silver hair on your chest is
proof
Enough for me’ and she processed my Social Security application
When I got home, I excitedly told my wife about my experience at the
Social Security office.
She said, ‘You should have dropped your pants. You might have gotten
Disability, too.’
And then the fight started…
My wife and I were sitting at a table at my high school reunion, and I
Kept staring at a drunken lady swigging her drink as she sat alone at
a nearby table.
My wife asked, ‘Do you know her?’
‘Yes,’ I sighed, ‘she’s my old girlfriend. I understand she took to
drinking right after we split up those many years ago, and I hear she
hasn’t been sober since.’
‘My God!’ says my wife, ‘who would think a person could go on
celebrating that long?’
And then the fight started…
I took my wife to a restaurant. The waiter, for some reason, took my
order first.
“I’ll have the strip steak, medium rare, please.” He said, “Aren’t
you worried about the mad cow?”"
Nah, she can order for herself."
And then the fight started…
A woman is standing nude, looking in the bedroom mirror. She is not
happy with what she sees and says to her husband, ‘I feel horrible, I
look old, fat and ugly. I really need you to pay me a compliment.’
The husband replies, ‘Your eyesight’s damn near perfect.’
And then the fight started…

Thanks Joe, and while on the subject, why is there 15 moderators listed under the Award Forum?
One is a Member and One is a Member of the ESOP.
Not that it bothers me that moderators are part of the Committee, but sure would bother me if all can have access to the Forum.
It is suppose to be a Private Forum from the Public Membership.
Can you help in filling me in here?

Why can’t this board be moderated like the HIP message board. It is peaceful over there.
I know Dom works his *** off and the last thing he needs is to moderate this board. But it sure would be nice if he could clone himself and moderate the Nachi board.
Can you provide a copy of the rules so the membership knows what can be done to the letter of the rules?

ANNOUNCEMENT OF MODERATORS WHO ALSO BELONG TO ESOP
As stated in previous e-mails to ESOP members, I am not in favor of moderators also serving on this committee. My reasons are many, but primarily as we do not need to be dragged into the “who deleted my post” discussion, nor the “he has a vendetta against me” thing, nor “what can you expect from a member of ESOP”.
Therefore, there will be some strict rules for those wanting to serve dual roles as an ESOP member and a moderator.
Also, I do not want our actions subject to second guessing or sniping from our detractors.
Therefore, the rules are quite simple…
No member of this committee may moderate, or cause to be moderate, any post… with the following specific and limited exceptions:
A post from a banned poster can be automatically deleted by any ESOP moderator, providing that a record of the deletion is logged and distributed to members of this committee.
A slanderous, inflammatory, defamatory, threatening post from a MEMBER may be temporarily deleted by an ESOP moderator, only after an independent complaint is logged with us and the committee decides that the post or thread should be taken down until such time as the complaint is investigated. In those specific cases, Nick and Chris shall be notified as to the nature of the complaint and why this committee decided to remove the post or thread.

Several things have changed lately. I have no control over any of it. The need for 15 moderators is absurd, at best. The fact that several are members of ESOP is perturbing to me, as ESOP is already a lightening rod in a never ending s h i t storm.
The scope of action of an ESOP “moderator” (we’re not really moderators) is quite limited. Those not liking the rules are free to moderate to their heart’s content, though not as a member of ESOP.
As to private forums, I agree. Moderators have NO BUSINESS with access to any of them. But now you see that those with admin privileges have ALWAYS had full access to ALL forums on the message board. In fact, tose with admin priviliges have access to ALL CORNERS of the board, including access to who sent what under the old “reputation” system.
Transparency is transparency…
Other changes I am not in favor of include making the safety course I wrote now accessible to NACHI members only. I am extremely dissapointed over this move. I believe that course to be so very important as to be accessible to ANYONE who wishes to take it.
If it aint available to all, it is no longer being delivered as agreed to by Nick and I so long ago.
It was to be free forever, for everyone… as a benefit to inspectors and non-inspectors, kids, parents, goofballs, realtors… whomever.

Hmmm… now I’m confused. Joe states that moderation of member’s posts is allowed… yet Nick indicates “there is no moderation of member posts any longer”
So which is it?
Not much has changed in my opinion. Same vindictive members serving both positions (ESOP and now moderator). We lost the greenie/reddie thing partially because a certain ESOP member couldn’t control himself and abused the system… and now he’s a moderator!!!
WOW! I am perfectly at ease now with my membership knowing that it is being protected from the big bad non-member posts throughout this message board.:roll:
So who will protect the members from certain moderator vendettas?
