Thanks Nick it went very well . I gave my email address and invited the listeners to send me there questions.
Since I got home I have had 11 emails from people with questions .
I have had two agents call and say how much they liked the presentation .
This is just one more place where NACHI stands out in helping the public. I also advertised our great web site and how the public can go onto it in the open section and ask questions .
I also said that unfortunately there can be some silly posts by some who are jealous on how well NACHI is doing in Canada.
I told them I joined NACHI just about two years ago and how It helps so many Home Inspectors as well as the public and How it has grown to about 400 members in such a short time to become the largest Home Inspection Association in Ontario.

You spelled his last name wrong, but , I guess that was probably done on purpose anyway.
Asphalt roofing is in fact five times cheaper than metal roofing and last longer by about ten to 15 years.
It can be recycled just as well as the metal.
Last item, if you are going to start calling Nick Gromicko's prospects "idiots", you have just admitted to your ignorance and stupidity. Since I have been in Construction for 40 years including my hardhearted apprenticing, I am ready to make an idiot of you.

As per usual Gil is a past master at getting second hand information and getting it wrong .
Richard was the person who Called in, and is a NACHI member and I stated in My opinion Steel roofs in our area are frequently installed incorrectly . They are also prone to let the snow on the roof slide off in one fell swoop. I also stated that they cost about 3 times what a asphalt roof costs. In our area most people only stay in their home about 8 years and the added cost of a steel roof ( my opinion does not warrant the higher cost) I used the example of a 60 year old person having to replace his roof should he spend $4,000:00 or $12,000:00 for replacement . In 15 years they could be going into an apartment and just possibly they could use the extra $8,000:00 for a good vacation .
There is no proof that a steel roof sells for much more then Asphalt homes to warrant the cost .
I guess Richard did not tell you the next person to call in (FRED) stated ROY YOU ARE ABSOULTY RIGHT .

Well... I wasn't speaking of you, or anyone else in particular, other than Roy Kook - at least not until now. Now that it appears you believe asphalt shingles last ten to 15 years longer than a metal roof. Maybe you have a different kind of metal roof over there in Nachiland?
As far as making me look like an idiot... go for it. Do what you think you have to do. None of it will change the fact that Nick's got your dues, and NACHI is not a certifying organization.

Thanks for your heartfelt concern, Larry. I can see how you might have thought I was replying to you, but in actuality I was replying to Nick. As you and the rest of us know, NACHI is not the largest HI association in Ontario and I was simply pointing out that it is a shame some feel the need to lie about it on the radio. The last thing we need in this profession is HIs lying to the general public, as it risks hurting the credibility of the entire profession. As for your reply to me, you may wish to reassess your priorities. You seem to be overly concerned about my actions yet not at all concerned about a NACHI member lying about your organization on the radio.
I'm hoping my explanation for posting will suffice. I'd hate to see this turn into something it doesn't have to. Lets let it die a natural death, for the sake of this forum.

ASHI, OAHI, CAHPI, all admit that students are exactly that students.
If you take the time to look at the https://oahi.com/PUBLIC/mapmain.asp .
You can find all inspectors listed and they are far less then NACHI.
From nothing to largest in just about two years shows what a great association we belong too.
I would be glad to retract my statement on the Radio immediately if some one can show me with evidence that I made an error and NACHI is not the LARGEST Home Inspectors association in Ont..

Actually, CAHPI's past-President who was also a member of the Board of Directors of OAHI has already provided you with the updated membership numbers for OAHI and CAHPI, which proved that OAHI is in fact number one in Ontario and CAHPI number one in Canada. At the time, you replied (to his posting the correct membership numbers) that it was only his "opinion." If I had to place a bet on who was correct, considering that you are not even a member of OAHI or CAHPI and that Bill is a past-President of CAHPI and was on the OAHI BOD last year, I'd be inclined to trust his figures over yours. Of course, if Bill had agreed with you that NACHI is number one, you'd be arguing that he has more credibility than anyone in Ontario, seeing as he was on the BOD of both CAHPI and OAHI and a past-President. But since his evidence proves you flat out wrong, you will now claim he is either lying or that it is only his personal opinion. Funny how that works, huh....

I don't trust your numbers, but based on them it is apparent that OAHI has more than twice as many members as NACHI (715 vs. 339) Even if we discount the applicants, retired members and friends, OAHI is still over 50% larger than NACHI. If you knew that when you did the radio spot, then you've lied to the general public on the radio. It's that simple.

There is little I say that can't be verified immediately. That is why everyone who complains that I have exaggerated about something NOTICEABLY stop short of saying exactly what that something is. They always use some generality as they know when they provide a specific criticism... the egg scrapper comes along soon after  .
Your above post is a rare exception. So rare that I feel compelled to address it. Unlike every trade association (not just home inspection associations) NACHI provides a very detailed accounting of its membership and updates that accounting instantly, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
One sure fire way of being awarded the NACHI basher egg scrapper is to complain that NACHI fudges its membership numbers. It is simply impossible for me to do that. Why? Because unlike every other trade association I can find... NACHI produces its membership numbers in EVERY format possible. By postal code, by zip code, by distance to city, geographically, by province, by state, alphabetically, by satellite photo, and even concentration per capita. NO OTHER ASSOCIATION is so forthright. Other associations all use (at most) some ambiguous geographic search where you put in a city and you get a few members that are nearby... thus camouflaging their real numbers (which are pathetically weak).
It is silly, very very silly, to ever accuse NACHI of fudging membership numbers as we are the ONLY association that provides such detailed data on membership. I would love to say NACHI has 1.7 billion members... but I can't. NACHI has made that impossible and has made those who accuse of us number fudging look... well, in a word... stupid.
