NACHI RULES
Roy Cooke sr… Glad I belong to NACHI its The best and Largest
Hello All:
I'm so Mad I could spit I just got off the phone with my state organization. They hadn't update my continuing education credits in a while. I mentioned that they didn't list my web site in the members only area. They said they'd be happy to... for $75.00! Mind you this is a membership list that is only visible to members! How bogus is that? They pointed out that they list my email for free! I felt great when I pointed out that from my email anyone could figure out my web site. I said I pass.
Some other fees:
$325.00 Annual dues
$195.00 Testing fee
$80.00 New applicant processing fee
$50.00 for a ride along (I'm good with that, one should be compensated when training your competition)
$150.00 each to review your reports
Sometimes we forget how many benefits we get here and that NACHI doesn't nickle and dime (if 75.00-150.00 is nickle & dime) us for each benefit or service
I'm off my soapbox now, I feel better
Rick

You mean CREIA?
Wow. I left them three years ago because they were too expensive. Now they're even more expensive.
You also seem to be forgetting that they have conveniently set the continuing education credits so that, as a new member, there is virtually no way you can get all you need each year without going to the annual convention for at least one day (that's a big money maker for them).
So, add in:
all those monthly dinner meetings at $35 each;
gas and wear & tear to get to the monthly dinner meetings;
time lost doing things that need to be done (such as marketing, reports, etc.);
the snobbiness of the people at the dinner meetings when they learn you are merely a newbie;
cost of shutting down the company for at least one day to go to the convention;
cost of travel to and from the convention;
cost of meals while at the convention;
cost of the convention for at least one day (a couple of hundred dollars or so);
snobbiness of CREIA members at the convention when they learn you are merely a newbie;
and, most importantly:
doctor's costs for psychoanalysis, Vicodin, and Viagra from all the problems CREIA creates for you as a new member.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Home inspections. . . .
One home at a time.

Russel:
I didn't wan't to say CREIA, they were not the point. The point was that NACHI doesn't have hidden fees, and charge for each and every benefit like an A La Carte Chinese menu. Oh you want fried rice that's a $2.00 more than steamed rice.
Note: There is one CREIA member that has refused my efforts to pay him for my ride-a-alongs, has reviewed my reports and refused my offer to pay for lunch. There are stand-up guys in every organization.
Again my point was NACHI rules!
Rick
