Plus, the “Expert” designation also comes with strict requirements,
- Exceed the SOP
- 100% Money Back Guarantee
- Quality control by Inspector Services Group, a third party.
So not as easy as some would lead to believe.

Sorry Paul, you haven’t been here long enough to know that what you say will never happen.
Jim
I resolved to be positive this year. ![]()
I am sitting here watching football and laughing at Nick again, in pure disbelief.
How can he possibly partner with and allow the same guy who has publicly accused Nick himself of IRS Tax fraud, belittled the CMI designation, tried to destroy ProLab amongst so many other things over the years, damage the CMI designation.
Things that just make you go hmmmmmm???
Jim
Jeffrey Jonas is correct. It’s up to members to investigate each vendor’s offer.
I am **positive **that you need to MAN UP and hold yer ground!
One you can use. The other you can’t. Home inspectors can’t call themselves “experts.”
You are evading the point hetre. It is not that you announced Nathans offer, that’s cool and no issues with that. It is that you are dragging the CMI Designation down and Partnering with this junk. Most of us want nothing to do with it and certainly don’t want the public to associate any quality CMI inspector with any vendor gimmicks.
We market the CMI as a step above, a top notch caliber and experienced inspector and not some dingleberry vendor pushing salesman.
This was a Bad move brother. You can still make it right and remove the dagger you just thrust into the heart of all CMI’s and the CMI designation.
Jim
The MICB has no partners. It’s a vendor offer and I’m obligated to alert CMIs to all vendor offers for them to review. CMIs aren’t my employees or children. I don’t make decisions for them.
Stop all the BULL !! You are letting him use the CMI Logo on his site and he is NOT even a newbie inspector let alone a CMI, additionally he has posted on his site that the CMI board has PARTNERED with him !!!
Quote from Nates site;
"Right now, for a limited time, The Master Inspector Certification Board, in response to the incredible success its top designees have had with offerings like RecallChek, 90 Day Warranties, SewerGard, MoldSafe, and the insanely popular 5 Year Roof Leak Protection Plan,* has partnered with the Inspector Services Group** to deliver a full six months of all of these services FREE on the Full Concierge program. There’s nothing else like it in the market, and CMI’s that sign up here will get a custom video as well ($300 value) for use in advertising and on their websites."

Jim
But Jim… don’t you see… He has “RELATED EXPERIENCE”!!!
I don’t control what other people post on their websites. I leave it to CMIs to investigate vendor offers.
More jibberish !
Is tyhis a True Statement?

Did you or did you not partner with him on this? Yes or No
And we did investigate, and it appears that you did. So answer the question please.
Jim
I personally think some of his products are excellent. If I were a home inspector I would likely be using RecallChek.
Already answered in my post #47.
Well then Nathan is Lying again on his site where he says you did partner with him?
Jim
Ahhh the old bait n switch.
Like Heroin, once you start, it’s painful to stop.
I agree I don’t know if I’m right or not. I guess I am just a trusting guy and think even guys like Thornberry can try and sell me stuff and guys like me can choose not to partner with him. I doubt if I will ever be a “Thornberry Boy” but then again, to each his own.
But yeah Jim, a lot has gone down I wasn’t privy too.
Nathan has a lot of products. IMHO, some of them are great and some are not. I leave it to individual inspectors to decide for themselves.
As for his Certified Inspection Expert, it’s not a competitor to Certified Master Inspector because no home inspector can use his Certified Inspection Expert designation. Read pages 11-14 of http://certifiedmasterinspector.org/sleep/
Furthermore, as Mark Cohen and Joe Ferry will tell you, your Standards of Practice (SOP) is your friend. It protects you. Once you give up the protection of your SOP you also give up the protection of your pre-inspection agreement which references your SOP. You’re naked at that point. Even your own E&O insurance company will abandon you.
Any idiot home inspector advertising that he/she is a Certified Inspection Expert is putting his home at risk because it is a personal claim about the home inspector: That he/she is such an expert. The Trademark requirement for using “Certified Inspection Expert” is proof to any plaintiff’s attorney that the idiot home inspector pre-agreed to exceed his/her SOP. Read the USPTO Trademark application. It requires Certified Inspection Experts to “exceed” their SOP. See USPTO.gov screenshot attached. Do you really think that a plaintiff’s attorney isn’t going to do 10 seconds of research to find out what the Trademark means?
Like I said: Some of Nathan’s products are awesome (I’d use RecallChek myself if I were a home inspector), some aren’t, and one in particular is totally unusable and very dangerous.
