Hello, new inspector here, just getting familiar with the InterNACHI interactions !!
Hi there, welcome.
Hey !!!
I’m extremely excited to get started in my home inspection career. Any tips or tricks for a new residential inspector?!!!
Don’t choose a business name that limits you to residential inspections. You may want to expand into commercial inspections down the road.
@jbonds2 Welcome to the MB.
What type of work experience do you have that may relate to this job?
There are plenty of threads on this subject here on the MB. Use the search tool at the top of the page and read away… Tons of good stuff to be found…
Nachi has plenty of webinars for new members/inspectors here: Webinars - InterNACHI® that cover all sorts of topics… Get a cup of coffee and a comfortable chair…
Fill out your profile signature so others know where you are located. Some things can be state/region specific, such as regulations, licensing, etc…
- Click on your picture on the top right of the page
- On the drop down, click profile
- On the next dropdown, click Preferences
- Then Profile (again) on the toolbar at the top of the page
- Scroll down to Signature
- Fill out and Save changes
- by adding your website and/or email, it can gain you free SEO points in search engines.
BTW, some may react to questions/posts in what appears to be a crass or harsh manner. So don’t wear your feelings on your shirt sleeves.
Conducting research on specific things can be a big part of this job, so with that said, use the resources that NACHI provides and don’t be afraid to use GooGoo…
Good luck to you!!!
Hey Jason, what Larry said! I chose Empowered because I like to help others learn, but didn’t give thought to doing commercial inspections and here I am with a home inspection name wanting to do commercial.
Welcome! I am in my 9th year and I love it.
I named my company JC inspection group my mentor actually explained to me not put myself in a box
I don’t think I did I named my business JC inspection group
Welcome Jason and good luck in the industry. A lot depends on your location and what the market is there. Certain Urban and Suburban areas are still strong, others have dropped off considerably. Unique areas like second/vacation homes are way down. I know because that is my market.
Know your market, when the up/down tics are and work hard to market yourself.
Best of luck and keep yourself on the forums here. You’ll get most of your education from experienced inspectors! Trust me!
That’s my market too, and I have more business than I want. I’m booking into May. Why aren’t you getting hired?
welcome Jason, stick arround someone will be along to argue with You shortly…
Thank you!!! Greatly appreciated !!!
I actually have another question now I hope you see it in the forum !!!
Hi there, welcome. Jason
