Positive feedback needed!

Sad but true. Pass the Kleenex.

When I first started posting I was timid and felt the rath of some polished inspectors and others were more friendly.

Now that I am somewhat seasoned I am better prepared on the message board.

I have made a lot of friends.

Seen some come & go.

If one decides not to post due to various reason that is there decision.

Now when someone is vulgar, or disrespects others, this is differant and should be moderated.

I think Home Inspector Pro is a good example of a clean message board.

There is good discussions, opinions and the board is moderated.

I still find the INachi board a great tool for my inspection business.

If I have an electrical question many expierienced professionals answer.

I can go back on all my posts and they all seemed to be answered professionally, maybe at the beginning because I was new and less knowlegeable I felt the responses my be hurt full because I took them out of context.

If there are issues between others best to email each other than on a public board.

There have been cases when my friends(Not naming anyone) have been insulated, disrespectful and I felt like hurting someone.
Keep it professional, respect others like you would want your self to be treated.

What on earth are you doing for "heavens sake"

Why put it in emails? Why not say in public what we mean? I have nothing to hide. I have nothing to regret. I want those tools to know exactly what the newbies feel like. They think 'Rights of passage" are needed. I consider it adult bullying. So why not? They think being negative and agrumentative is a way to growth…then lets grow baby!

I see Dale all the time.
Just a question Russell. You ever knock anyone?
Look I know I read to fast and have my computer screen filled with 2 and 3 projects at one time Russell. So excause me if I gloss over the obvius.
I am going to say I see a different composer here. When I first came in it was a bit hostile but I see more mentoring going on. Its is just my point of view.
Now I se a light I never saw before.
We are business men. as Mr.Bushart explained to me but I was preoccupied at the time. (FAINLY)
80 percent of the new guys will fail and such is life. You do have to callus up your demeanor to survive.

Disagree 100%. Why do you have to be a tool to succeed?

I will promise you 1 thing follow Mr. Bushart and you will be a 1 a day guy at BEST. He has the worst marketing philosphy ever. He sucks so bad that he tries to make 1 a day sound like its successful. But thats marketing at its worst. He has painted himself into a corner that he can’t get out. But then again he is a HOME INSPECTOR and does not OWN a Company he just gets by.

He does nothing beneficial to the industry but bash everyone and everything. I know Nick loves him, I think because he swallows, but thats another story.

When I talk to the newer people this is the one name that comes up time and again. He thinks its “cool” to bully people. Well let the fun begin. WHy is he an inspector? Because his other business flopped. Once a loser always a loser.

So how is this exchanging of different ideas working? I am loving it!

I have to agree with much of Russ has to say. I have personally stepped away from much of the message board because I got tired of being pushed. I know many other experience inspectors that have done the same.

Those that feel they have the only correct answer or the newbie should know the answer have only made themselves less of a person, this org less than it can be and portray the industry in a poor light. If anyone thinks they are helping anyone by insulting, belittling or other wise bullying, they are dead wrong. They do it only to make themselves feel better about themselves.

There is another group here that is just as bad. The guy with three inspections behind him, who does not have all the facts but wants to give wrong advice.

For those of you too proud to listen to Russ:

I did visit him and followed him and his crew for a day. We did 5 full inspections plus some other affiliated ancillary inspections(radon/mold). Not only did he do inspections quicker, better and faster he makes more money. I seen some of the checks he gets for inspections, he is the real deal. Anyone would be wise to listen to him. He has taken several inspectors under his wing and truly cares. Many here couldn’t hold a candle to him or his flashlight.

In something Every man is my superior in that I may learn from him.*

What have you done for your industry. profession and fellow inspector? Most of us have done nothing good.

Yes John he talked about how you watched the HVAC AND WITNESSED IT IN ACTION. I asked if the was an agency. He blew hot air at me. So yes I do inspections alone and with the client in tow and yes Russell got mad at me and another inspector with 100 inspections between us. Yes I heard him RAOR. GET MAD AND INSINUATE THAT THE 2 OF USE KNEW LITTLE AND HE WANTED ME TO POST AN INSPECTION FOR COMPARISON.
So what where we talking about again. being nice?Russell said to be what like him.
Shoot I can look up the thread if you want me to.
So yes I will not listen to idle chanter.
Now I will say that all new members should ask for help, get a friend and learn at there pace. If they are afraid, well man are they going to have there pants brown stained when that first bad client, shot of useless litigation comes near, and have to force there way in to be heard here.
There will be ones that help like me.
Yes there should be more servility but real life is not servile.

I am not sure what you are talking about in the first part of your post.

I know Russ has faults, but why knock him or anyone else if they are looking to help?

Maybe I am mistaken John but he mentioned a John S. and how he witnessed or some other John witnessed his 5 man on 1 house inspection method. Must be the wrong guy.
Know bear with me. I have only been here a year.
Russell chewed out my azz last week. I missed posts because I had 3 programs going on my PC… He talked about his company being 22 years old, he owning it for 12 or so. so I hope it is the same Russell that does home inspection with 3, 4, 5 men. Put together specialist from other industry,s to do systems.
same Russell John?

John I hold out my hand to many. Look at my friends ist. Every new member that seems to hesitate, I walk with them and encourage them. I have gone to Nick with this same complaint.
I am cut and dried. In business 80 percent will fail. That is life. So yes help but till what end. Now I am thinking like the ones that asked me the same questions.
Its business and no one is going to hold your hand.

Highly agree!

And I don’t see that things have changed much since I left on July 22, 2008. The negativity here is just too much, and I like to surround myself with positive people, something that I’ve found over at ActiveRain. There really is some truth in “Misery loves company.” Well, so does a positive attitude, and it ain’t here on this message board!

A couple of days ago I got nightly summary email notifications working again, so I’ll be checking in on a nightly basis again but I won’t be spending a lot of time here. If I leave a comment, you won’t find me coming back to see any other responses after I’ve left mine since I turn email notifications off for individuals threads that I comment on.

For those who aren’t busy and would like to be, come on over to ActiveRain. If you use the personal referral link, I’ll be notified when you join; get the free account first. Once I’m notified, I’ll teach you how to have fun blogging and make money, too.

Since July 22, 2008, my referrals from the public and from ActiveRain members has surpassed the 100K mark. During my eight years of membership here at InterNACHI, I’ve received a grand total of two referrals totaling $798 from other InterNACHI members (one) and the public using something like InspectorSeek.

Best wishes to everyone for health, happiness, peace, and prosperity.

As far as Mr. young goes…here is the thread. Here is the thread. See who casts the first stone http://www.nachi.org/forum/f48/first-me-58626/. I was not attacking I was defending, two totally different things.

I appreciate the kind words John and am glad russel ray spoke up. It was something I noticed, was guilty of and was trying to make better. So carry on and see how many new guys join the message board. What rational people can see 200 members on line and about 10 actually using the board and see that as a normal and beneficial thing I have no idea.

My attacks on people during this thread were to exaggerate the typical crap that goes on. So be it, have fun with making yourself look bigger and better.

I am willing to bet anyone that I know of three relatively new inspectors that will make it in the industry, big time. Sad thing is they do not really post here often and they have a bad taste in their mouths for this message board. Once aain these are the future leaders in the industry and the future of NACHI and yet they do not feel welcomed.

Taking the words of an esteemed collegue…sad but true…

Russel, in that thread you kept comparing the typical one man operation with your multi inspector operation and implying superiority on your part.

Most did not take to your condescending and “I’m superior” attitude kindly.

Sad but true.

“Once aain these are the future leaders in the industry and the future of NACHI and yet they do not feel welcomed.”

How are they going to be NACHIs future if they are afraid to participate on the message board? Just asking

You got it Michael. Trust me from now on if people want to learn how to increase their business and blow the competition away, I will keep that info to myself! Great message board. I see it happen all the time. Russel Ray, Dale Duffy, people who are PROVEN success stories try to help and those less fortunate see them as bragging. How is it baragging to tell someone, want to make a ton of money in the inspection business and then go on explaining how. FREE of charge and then people like YOU who do 4 a week, call them braggers and full of themselves.

I am freakin PROUD of my company and do I think its one of the best in the country? **** yes I do! If I didn’t I would be there right now making changes.

So I guess to be successful and post here is Taboo…because your arrogant. I never charged a single penny for advice. NEVER turned away a member who wanted to come to my office and see how we do things and even PAID a guy, who was financially strapped, yes, I paid for his hotel and meals TO COME LEARN from me. What have you done?

What postitive changes have you made? What has your humble and generous demeanor done to change the inspection world?

They won’t! Thats the problem! Let me ask you this. And I don’t know everyone and their background. Who are the 10 top producing inspection companies in the US and how many WERE here and left.

Why have so many of the “members of the year” stopped actively posting here?

I don’t have the answers, just asking.

Please get help Russel.

Just what I thought. You have done nothing to help a fellow inspector. Nice, Michael…anything else? Or do you just keep reponding so no one overtakes your #1 poster position? Great title!

I help where can and if you paid attention you would know that.

This is my last post on this thread as I am tired of Russel’s unwarranted personal attacks.

Just to do some fun math

What do you call a person who posts

13.4 - Posts a day
94 - posts a week
377 - posts a month
4,527.5 -posts a year

ON AVERAGE for the past 6 years is married and runs a company and then tells other people to get a life…

MICHAEL LARSON…If what you have is a life…well then I will keep what I got.
