Radon System Installation

I recently had a radon system installed and I can’t help but feel like the installation isn’t quite right. Based on the picture what do you all feel about it? I’ve read the venting should be above the roof and that there should be some sort of gauge to determine if the system is working.

The discharge point should be above the roof line.

The discharge should be above the roof line. And also looks as though they used 3in pipe instead of 4. 3in is acceptable but 4in is what’s recommended. As far as the gauge you are talking about, there should be a manometer located inside the home mounted to the side of the pipe. What may I ask did you pay for this system and what was your reading? And warranty?

Thanks for all the information everyone.

The quote for the system from the installer is $750. I haven’t paid for the install as of yet. The installer is stopping by on Monday to drop off the paperwork and pick up his meter to get our new reading. Our reading wasn’t overly high at 5.0 but we decided to have it installed for our piece of mind. Now I’m wondering if I should have them finish the work or have someone else do it. As it is I’m not paying until it’s fixed right.

What state are you in? Some states require radon mitigators to be licensed by the state.
