Report Hoes, I mean Report Host nonsense

I hear ya. I had one narrative in mine flagged and I didn’t even know I had the narrative and sure as heck never used it.

On a side note, if you haven’t already, make sure you create your new template and start using it immediately. The longer you wait, the more inspections that will be affected. Some who wait until the last minute will have recent clients that cannot access the HTML report.

Awww…crap.

It is very easy to do. Just export, and then import.

But…You will have to make some tweaks in the new template. Make sure to go into your template settings in the new one and set it up (this includes your header text, which can be copy/pasted from your old template). I opened my old template on one screen, and the new template on my other screen and just matched everything up. There are a few other things like setting up your section icons and turning off sections that you want off by default (optional sections) that you will have to do as well.

I think that this has been brought up, but have not seen if any answers have been provided. I started with the internachi template 5 years ago when I first started. Over the course of those years I have edited the comments as I do the reports as I don’t see how a canned response can be used for every situation. I see that I had alot of flagged comments, mostly items that I would never see in my area. My question is, how did theses flagged comments end up in an internachi template in the first place? I feel like Spectora seemed to have caved without a fight. I can give them the benefit of the doubt as I do not know what their lawyers and insurance advised them to do, looks like its what they did. I would still like to know why these comments were present on the internachi template in the first place.

Finally, someone using their brain and trying to understand the source of the problem, and not just the bandaid fix to distract from the source!

Because they are InterNACHI’s. Anything InterNACHI’s is also yours, if you are a member.

Chicken or the egg? Did ReportHoes take these narratives and claim them for themselves? Or vice versa?

It would be absurd to think that we’d author tens of thousands of narratives, but all of a sudden come to a screeching halt and say to ourselves… “We need a few dozen more but just can’t author any more, were so tired, let’s steal the last ones from Report Host.”

Keep it real, not real dumb.

Thanks for the info. That’s more than I’ve gotten from Spectora since all this started. I’ll do it… under protest… and send them an invoice for my time… and emotional distress.:rofl:

My feeling is that Spectora maybe should have done this themselves for all affected subscribers. It probably could have been fairly easily automated in their system.

So how many users is this giant mess going to cost Spectora?
I’d be jumping ship if I used their product.

I just want to make sure I am understanding this. The internachi template has only narratives written by intenachi and now report host is claiming that these are the same as their own narratives? Seems like this couldve been easily fixed if that is the case. How difficult could it be to show that report host is making a false accusation. Im sure that the internachi template must have been there for quite some time and there should be a paper/ date trail of internachi narratives to show that they are mistaken in their claim.

They are only claiming that some are.

Yep, that’s what Spectora should have done in court. But instead they folded like a wet paper bag and settled (see court documents I posted). And we all know that Report Host didn’t sue Spectora to get some narratives deleted. They sued them for money (just like they sued individual inspectors for money) and Spectora paid them. No one sues to have some text about a water heater changed. Follow the money.

I was being a bit cryptic if not sarcastic. How is Report Host claiming NACHI narratives as their own? These inspectors are being harmed by this misrepresentation. Maybe that is your in.

I keep wondering why anyone would claim the below narrative as their own. :man_shrugging:

This is the only narrative (and I use that word loosely) that many of us had flagged in our templates as “belonging to RH.”

I appreciate the quick response. I know that you would want to fight this and not bend over and take it as we are doing. I find it odd that Spectora never reached to internachi about this prior to settling. I have been in positions where people have came after me, very few. My insurance suggested we settle because it would be easier. I refused, showed my work, showed that they were wrong, put the ball in their court and they folded. It seems like spectora should have better people than me to stand up for them.

Problem solved… Go with a real phone and tablet… :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

What do they do when you find something you’ve never seen before, need to do research on, and yet have promised a report delivered onsite?
