Maybe Spectora will be coming after NACHI for providing a starter template with poison pill narratives in it.
After I started this thread, Spectora’s attorneys figured out how to prevent irreparable harm to you by having the reports available in a far less accessible archive. Without “irreparable” harm, I can’t get an injunction. I need one member to sue for me to get in the ring. Either that or I have to succeed in antagonizing both companies until one of them sues me. In the “Let’s see who runs out of money first” legal game, it matters not if I’m a plaintiff or defendant. My attorneys are trying to get me on the field.
I see three options:
- Be honest and tell the client it is in their best interest to give you a bit more time.
- Lie and fake technical difficulties to buy more time.
- Fake it till you make it and hope it does not bite you in the ass later.
I can imagine other options too. I’d prefer to under promise and over deliver.
You and me both.
Pity those who report on site. Never have and never will. To each their own,
First, invent time travel.
Second, go back in time and smack yourself for being a dumbass.
Third, remove any promises like that.
There have been times where I could have delivered on-site. Every single time I’ve reviewed my report at home, I found things that could be improved, clarified or even removed. I also add my thermal images at home just because I don’t have to capture it through my phone. I could, it just wastes time on-site.
I did every report on site for 5.5 years. Vast majority of my headaches were caused by printers. I had 5 or 6 brand new printers on my truck. If mine gave me any trouble on-site, I’d fire up a new one.
I am in florida and primarily do 4-points and wind mits, that is what I have built my business around ( usually only 3 or 4 full Inspections a week). I still feel like this could potentially cause issues in the future. I am planning on calling my insurance tomorrow and see what their legal department has to say about this. They are in the business of covering themselves first and foremost. Not having a report available or even a pdf without video’s may be troublesome. (Note: I am still not entirely clear if we will have access to the PDF version on request. I have had google backup turned on, but am only seeing a very small fraction of the reports for some reason?)
…And… ONLY AS LONG AS YOU ARE A MEMBER!…
Same as with Reporthost and what they are claiming with their narratives!!
First, those aren’t “their narratives.” They are ours, which means they are yours.
Second, there are only 11 people who joined InterNACHI, left InterNACHI, and stayed in the business. Basically nobody falls into that category. In addition to them, a few retirees do an inspection now and then. Who cares?
Third, I would never chase a former member for anything.
Irrelevent!
Irrelevent!
Irrelevent!
Irrelevent!
The narratives not actually being Report Host’s is only “irrelevant” if Spectora settles, because no one ever gets to argue the case and it never gets adjudicated. And they did settle. Y’all can stop arguing the case. That battle is over and Spectora lost. Probably paid some money to Report Host too.
Yep. That ship has sailed.
The best you can do now is put out a notice to other software providers that if they find themselves in the same situation, to reach out because you are itching for a good battle. I would love to see it go down!
I haven’t seen the user agreement Spectora has with y’all, either… but I bet it says something like “Spectora can, with notice, delete all your reports.” I don’t know, again, I haven’t been able to get ahold of it… probably because it also prohibits y’all from sharing it.
All Irrelevent!
Let me simplify this since you are all butthurt over being compared to Reporthost, along with Reporthost and Internachi having identical policies…
Those are not identical policies. We don’t make any claims on any narratives, never have, much less narratives that aren’t ours. Who would do that?
Complete opposite policies. And we produce more content each week than Report Host has ever created.
And there’s the “Nick Speak” as expected.
And as always…
I won’t be suckered into your word games, so…
“walking away” now.
