I agree, I was only commenting on the retrofit part of it.
The original picture is all wrong even with me not knowing what wind mit forms are all about. 
Roger that…I fault the so called builder in this case…he should have known better, especially since the soffits AND the roof decking was open at the time.:roll:

Who knows what it is attached to underneath the old roof?
