this is why SOME interior system companies cover, hide the bottom blocks with ‘bright wall paneling’, or a dimpled membrane etc, some cover most or all of the basement walls inside the basement
they’ll place cheap crap against bottom blocks like this
these INT system co’s don’t want homeowners to see crack like this widen or water or mold or deterioration of the blocks - they don’t want a home inspector to see it either
Not only are these interior systems a rip off, they are also mold factories. I don’t know how many mold assessments I’ve performed that found a homeowner built a wall against that weep screen at the base of the wall. I did one last summer that ended up costing the homeowner 60K start to finish. Any inspector finding these installed should be warning there client about high moisture build up in the basement.
