Shower drain question

You’re all just being silly! There are only two rules in plumbing. Follow them and you’ll be alright.

Rule #1 :poop: doesn’t float uphill.
Rule #2 don’t bite on your fingernails.

Dear Derrick,
That is some kind of plumbing mess. It truly needs all of it to be torn out and redone correctly. Those pictures were taken at different install stages.

MAKE SURE THE SUB or layman, DOES NOT COVER IT WITH CONCRETE UNTIL IT IS CORRECTED.

Since you have only been in construction since 93’ I can give you a pro tip: Any tradesman who has a messy and disorganized work area isn’t worth a damn and should immediately be escorted off site.

All the best to you good sir.

It’s pretty hysterical, 90% of you don’t know what your saying or seeing then just like you, a random insult pops up with zero great wisdom on what needs to be corrected, how and why.
Let me guess, you’re not a code inspector, nor a plumber?

Your response is so cheesy, do you really think that someone is about to just cover this up as is? It’s obviously incomplete genius.

You’re also saying that long sweep 90’s can’t be used?

Well, I got a good kick out of this troll post, so many of you clearly could never make it as a plumber and need a lot more experience before you comment.

You’re obviously here to argue. If it is right, then why the post? Lucky for you, there are plenty of sparring partners on here. Better than hitting on your wife and kids I suppose.

Well at least you admit to being a troll.

We choose to be home inspectors NOT plumbers.

You may want to go to a plumbers forum. I hear they could us some humor.

Speaking of Troll, why are you here asking Home Inspectors? Did you get laughed off all the plumbing forums you visited? Guess you did…and understandably so.

Jeez Larry, we think too much like one another… :stuck_out_tongue:

Honestly, again I state I’m not a plumber. However, if it were me I would avoid the 90’s. I would likely dig deeper under that toilet flange, extend the 4" down, use the 4x3 closet on the extension then go straight into the main drain pipe with the appropriate slope. Just my $.02 for what it’s worth.

Nope, I just get a kick out of the responses. All judgement, but no knowledge of correct mechanics.

Well, you really have represented yourself as being “knowledgeable”…

Avoid the 90’s? I have no idea what you’re saying. This hole is 2’ deep and the toilet runs down a full bubble in less than 5’.
Above the junction is a 2” washer outlet that will pound that junction. Grade all the way to the street.

Drip Kid part Deux…

Well then, fill it in and pour the concrete…forgetting the AHJ.

Derrick, is this a vent?

Yes, but obviously mid stage and incomplete

Why is there a tee in the middle of it? Are you connecting your washer drain here as well? Is this the drain stack for upstairs too?
