Recently I have been getting voice mails from phone calls that my carrier has identified as spam and blocked, therefor my phone never rings and the caller goes to voice mail. The crazy thing about these voice mails is the message is a tone, just like the 1990’s dial up internet connection sound. I have had 3 of these so far in the last 3 days, anyone else?
I’ve blocked calls that still are directed to my VM even though the phone never rings and I don’t get any VM notification. Every other week I have to call my # and go into my VM to clean out all the “new” ones I was never notified of. Never any dial tones though…
Yes, I have had several calls that sound like a fax machine calling. More robo BS I’m sure.
I have had the same type of calls.
I’ve been getting the “tone” calls for many months.
It’s a “workaround” to robocalls testings numbers for live people answering.
Welcome to ‘Election’ season!! (T-minus 13 months…)!
Be careful… A LOT of REA’s numbers come up like this and many are looking to book inspections. I always answer all calls and sort it out once I see who it is. Kind of the “cost” of doing business.
Just happened to me. Carrier said spam so it went to VM. Luckily, the client left a message. This really sucks because now I am back to answering them all.
I stopped answering my phone about two years ago. If they don’t leave a message, they’re most likely price shoppers and aren’t interested in my services.
I get 99% of the ones that leave a message. Best thing I ever did.
Interesting as the past couple of weeks I have been getting calls from FAX machines. Either that or the acid is finally catching up to me!
Did you see or hear this stupid crap from WAPO?
What a load of shit!
I get a lot of those spam calls that go straight to trash. For other calls, one big clue that the call is waste of time with my iPhone is, if the caller ID is blank or just a city. Rarely are those client calls.
The texts that annoy me are the 3 to 6-a-day texts for health insurance or government loan up to $118K.
If it shows up as spam I don’t answer it, but sometimes the spam caller will leave a message. I will check it but if I don’t hear another voice right after the message starts, I delete the message and hang up.
Over here in Maui I got a local number for my biz to fit in and it’s just an app that goes through my Android (called “Talkroute” and is overall pretty cool). Google Voice does the same things but for some reason I don’t understand they don’t do any Hawaii 808 area code numbers. Anyway, I tried calling a friend with it the other day and they said it came up as “Fraud.” Great… I suppose these apps and fake (for lack of a better term) numbers are what Andre and all the other scammers use to try and screw people and legitimate carriers probably just label them as such.
I do the same thing, the numbers look very legit.
I get them occasionally. Sounds like a fax machine. I have most of them blocked and they go to voice mail which picks up the noise. I suspect they are all some kind of automated recording. When it goes to voice mail it throws them out of whack. There’s a delete button for a reason!
