The ASHI Fraud

Go and look.

(shhhh…they already have)

OMG!!!

There’s a giant NACHI TV video on my web site

Can we be BFF’s now.

I just hope enough of you turd burglers will click on my web site to help my Google ranking:mrgreen:

I have to say I like your site a lot!!! Good job!!!

Looks great!

I hope I helped your rankings!!! Good call!

There is no greater compliment. Thanks Bro.

Maybe now you will get some of that web business the rest of us enjoy.
I personally think the ASHI logo is keeping them away.

Strange URL though http://www.inspection1st.com/node/390

Ahhhhhhhhhhh…I don’t believe that on a bad day. The ASHI inspectors I know are stand-up guys, one of which I trust with my business when I need time away… which is my biggest beef with some members here…

You paint the entire world with the same broad brush.

There are some MOUTHS in AHSI, but unfortunately they’re here too.

We’re a national franchise system. (uh-oh…the “F” word)

I Like my State organization and ICC affiliations best and get more work from the BBB than all combined. The more infighting between the organizations that occurs the greater the public disenchantment.

You see, that drives me nuts…BBB is expensive and I think my rating just jumped to an A+.

That’s regional too…nobody cares about the BBB here and I think it cost me 700 big ones to find that out.

I’ve heard from contractors here that BBB afilliation is HUGE for them, yet HI’s receive no benefit (here). I found out why today…it took me 15 minutes because at it turns out, the BBB link I had was for San Diego based businesses, even though I was entering my local zip code.

(they want me to renew…dream on)

Jim;

We agree on the important points.

 • The “old guys” want more “professionalism”, but don’t do anything to work for and promote it. They would rather just sit back and expect the “new guys” to worship at their feet.
 • They think like old (and, now, new) union guys. “We can use the politicians to promote out needs and agenda. Just contribute to their campain coffers.”
 • They do not see that, using new technologies and techniques (i.e., thermal imaging, building science, the internet (to actually get the manufacturer’s installation instructions, checking appliance serial and model numbers, etc)) are the new standard. They just want to rest back on their own past glories.
 • They still think that they are the standard, against which all others are judged.

Hope this helps;

Do you believe that “the old guys” are defined by their alliances and logos?

You know what? I respect the hell out of some of these grouchy old bastards. I know an ASHI guy that’s been doing it since the 70’s and he’s in better shape than most of us.

He could do a 15 minute inspection on MY purchase and I’d likely believe most of what he told me.

I get, at last analysis (1 month ago) over 55% of my business from my web site,

30% from good, and ethical, Realtors who have seen me work and have asked for my card. Of these, 70% were the seller’s agent!

Over all, do a good, professional job, eduicate your cleints and write a good, professional, narrative report.

The proof is in the final product. SERVE THE CLIENT!

Nuff Said!

Nothing wrong with that as marketing and setting up procedure is not easy or fun for many and they(Franchises ) fill a void .

Most Inspectors are independent types that prefer to run things their own way after years of doing it someone else"s way though, and if there is a hint of the F word on your site that may turn off many potential clients IMO , but there is a market for them.

Like the associations , my guess is that a franchise theory would be to get all the RE Agents on their team by showing all their Inspectors on board follow procedure the same way thus giving Agents a comfort level in the way McDonalds gives customers the comfort of sameness.

Might not be the best burger around , but by golly you know what to expect.

Hmm in essence the franchise goal is to say their way is the only way and thus leads us back to the original subject. :slight_smile:

“Things that make you go Hmmmmmm”.

I just now realized how funny this was.

I have a few of them that I know. Biut, they NEVER start learning, and the ALWAYS sork to learn more, and to better SERVE the client,‘’

That is the important thing, in my opinion, :mrgreen:

I couldn’t agree more. We’re a buch of cocky, self-promotiong, IN-CHARGE types you’d never want to meet. That said, being a franchise owner is only subservient if you’re not making money for them. If you produce you have some clout.

Our franchise is actually quite good. I have back office support, and a business coach from hell (she’s awesome) that most inspectors would die for but yea…there’s a “control thing” that we all have…my franchise accepts me for the lunatic I am. They haven’t got much choice in it;-)

The reward is longer Inspections and more time doing reports.

You’re a poet dude… I’m still laughing:mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:
